this week was recovering from all our Christmas travels, putting presents and decorations away or together, cleaning, and spending time over at the neighb's house. Wednesday Jodi had a house-full of kids with cam and cooper being off school so we just played and had lunch. Thursday and Friday she had just her 2 kids and kade so Thursday we went to the children's museum (we rode in the van with them). it was so busy but the kids had fun! Friday Melissa, thaeden and baby Wesley came over to Jodi's house to play too. Thursday night we went over to the neighb's house after supper so I could help Jodi craft a bit. we brought hot cocoa and marshmallows for the kiddos.
Trevor didn't fall asleep until 330pm every day for nap so only got an hour nap each day. finally on new years eve he fell asleep at 140 and slept for 3 hours for nap, thank goodness since we knew we'd be staying up late that night.
Saturday was new years eve and Al had off both that day and the next day, new years day! we purposefully didn't make plans because we wanted to stay home after the busy Christmas weekend. we played and cleaned and crafted and then Al made fried chicken wings for supper. after supper we went over to the neigbh's house for some drinks, card games, movie & popcorn for the kids. Jodi's whole family was there: matt, Jodi, cam, chloe, jake, Kassie, kade, her mom and dad, and her other brother josh. after some games of spoons with cam, we put on a movie for the kiddos and the adults played 99 for quarters. Al was out 2nd, and I lasted in to take 3rd place overall. we headed home about 1030 and T and I went to bed.
sunday after breakfast and painting/playing, Al and Trevor went outside for a bit to pick up sticks and they made a snow fort. we had lunch and then watched the Vikings game while trevor tried to nap; he finally fell asleep at 330, again... then at 530 we went to the neighb's and had supper and to watch the packer/lions game for the division championship. Trevor and I came home about 830 and went to bed, Al stayed until the end of the game and matt gave him a ride home.
Monday we started potty training boot camp. :) I made a sticker chart and printed out a picture of the toy trevor picked that he wanted to earn which I glued to the end of the sticker chart. he has 7 boxes and he needs to get 3 stickers per box to earn his toy. the first half of the morning went great! right after he woke up, he picked out which undies he wanted to wear and we put them on with no pants (sweat shirt, socks and slippers). he went on the potty and peed right away! you're supposed to put them on the potty every 20 minutes to try so I tried to keep a watch on the clock. after breakfast he earned 2 more stickers just like that! then at 1030 as he was playing he turned to me and said he was pooping. I quickly took him to the potty and he pooped on the potty! after that it didn't go so well. he didn't want to go in and sit on the potty, then when i'd finally get him in there he'd sit for 5 seconds and not sit back down. he ended up peeing in his undies, down his legs and on his socks, but he didn't like it. Al got up and made us nummy hamburgers (or hang-a-bers as trevor calls them)! trevor sat on the potty again after lunch (after a bit of a struggle) but didn't pee. he fell asleep for nap at 230!
