2016 :: 25/52 :: The Lake

Saturday morning we were up and ready to go by about 9 but we waited for Auntie Marlene to get to mom's house from Illinois so that mom could drive her the rest of the way. we ended up leaving right before noon; it was just T and I in mom's car and I was worried how he would do but he did great although he didn't nap until 10 minutes before we got to the cabin at about 5ish. we stopped in Motley at our usual playground and got ice cream (we'd eaten lunch at mom's before leaving) and then made the usual stops in Park Rapids for groceries, fishing license, and booze. we made pretty good time and I drove around with sleeping Trevor until mom got all checked in so he got about a half hour nap.

we were the last ones to arrive so the kids were already in the little blow up pool swimming and everyone was pretty much unpacked. I had brought the bed rails thinking that T would sleep in the extra bed (it would be the first time) but he chose to sleep in the pack n play and did great in there. he slept every night and every nap in there. we had a fantastic week both with our family and weather-wise! By the end, Trevor knew everyone's name.

Sunday: T waded in the lake lots and picked seashells, we went for a ride in uncle jimmy's boat & T got to drive, Maren brought a little picnic table for the kiddos so they ate lots of meals out there, his chafing from late last week flared up again and stuck around most of the week, Trevor liked to "play" the block game with the rat pack: Shane, Ben and Travis, played squirt guns, shared a donut with Ruby at Polly & Rons awesome breakfast, the little cousins found a frog (good bonding time)

Monday: went for a morning walk with T in the carrier w/ Maren, Tula, Mom, Judie and Marlene, I braided Ruby, Tula & Lia's hair (my tiniest, cutest French braided pigtails!), swam in the lake and pool, uncle came, played guns with Nate, Noah and uncle, it was our meal night: lasagna, Al came, I got to sit by the bonfire for a bit after T's bedtime and watched the moon rise over the trees

Tuesday: I got to wakeboard and got right up, I paddleboarded a couple times once with Trevor on there with me, we were outside all day, we played lots of water volleyball, uncle left, it was the champagne cruise: Rubies, ribbons and Ruffles theme, we had some appetizers & chatting then headed out on the pontoons, went to the bar with mom, Eryn and Mary after wards

Wednesday: it rained some of the day but were kinda happy for it after having so much sun already, we had a family meeting about the resort & next year, played lots of cards, it was our family party night to celebrate our 40th year of doing the lake, we wore our matching t shirts and took lots of pictures, the waynie nessets came to visit,

Thursday: Al and the boys went golfing, I pulled out my crafts in the morning and we made hand prints for GG and birdies with Tula and Ruby, T played lots with Ruby this day, more swimming in lake & pool, had another pontoon ride, I wake boarded twice (the lake/day was awesome) and paddle boarded with T again

Friday: we packed up and then played a bit (it was super windy) until lunch, after which we headed out. not too long after getting on the road, Trevor puked all over himself and the carseat, we had to pull over on a no shoulder back road and clean everything up to the best of our ability, we packed it all back up and were going to stop at the next town to clean up better but T fell asleep, he slept for 2 hours which we then stopped at a gas station and then didn't stop again until St Paul to eat supper & get the Volkswagen from moms, we didn't make it back to eau Claire until 8 pm (7 hours in the car)...

We had a fantastic although exhausting time at the lake this year! T played with just about everyone and loved having his cousins to play with. We had a great week, lots of sun and activities. it's always sad to leave but so great to get home!

Saturday morning was for unpacking, laundry, and putting away. then about 2 we headed out to stetsonville (halfway to Wausau) for Al's friend Pat's wedding. T fell asleep in the car right away so napped the whole hour ride! it was a great reception (Al knows Pat from high school and he lived with Pat in EC before we lived together in ec for the second time) with good food and other little kids for T to run around with. Pat and Kristi have Billy who is just a couple months younger than Trevor. T ran around until dinner then sat great for supper and then danced/ran the whole time until we left. we sat at a table with other guys Pat lived with and Al knew from either high school or college. we left about 830p and T did not sleep on the way home (so strange, we never know when/if he's gonna sleep in the car) but was out as soon as he hit the pillow.

Sunday was a relaxation day for us until Auntie Molly came back and I went to softball. we played at 8 pm so I left T home with Al and Auntie Molly. I came back Monday morning and we ran to menards, had lunch and said goodbye to Auntie Molly.
