2016 :: 15/52 :: superior shores

the weather finally warmed up this week! all the way up to the 70s! we spent a lot of time outside during the week, as well as garage saling in the mornings. and Al spent a lot of time working; his Monday-Wednesday he worked 12 hour shifts. they did the sergeant shift pick, and he got the crappy shift 11a-730p he works all day and no time for us to do anything on the days he works. plus he barely sees trevor and isn't here for lunch or dinner or any of putting Trevor down to sleep. it'll be an adjustment; thank goodness it's nice weather season so we can get outside and thank goodness for the neighb's (for however little time we have left living next to them...)

Friday morning I was able to run to my favorite consignment sale here in eau Claire in the morning and Al stayed with Trevor before Al had to work at 11.

Saturday Trevor and I drove up to the cities for the day. I had softball practice, then one of mom's friends was having a no sale garage sale since they're downsizing, and then we stopped by my cousin Kai's 30th birthday party for a bit after nap before heading back to eau Claire (it was Al's birthday!). that night, once Trevor was in bed, we sat on the neighb's patio with them and had drinks and cupcakes. we stayed up until midnight!... :)

sunday we headed to superior shores for 3 days! we finally used the free stay at the condo up there that mom's friend Lou gave us for our wedding! mom came up sunday-Monday night, too! it was a great little getaway although the weather wasn't great: 40 degrees and rainy/cloudy/windy the whole time (while it was 80 degrees in eau Claire). sunday we left after lunch and Trevor took a nap on the drive. we went right to my grama's house in silver bay (half an hour north of superior shores) and met my mom there. we stayed until they had supper, then we stopped by the falls in beaver bay but it was super cold, so then we went to dinner in beaver bay. after dinner we checked in to superior shores, unpacked a bit, and loved our view! Trevor, Nana and Al went swimming (I forgot my suit) while I took a bath in the huge Jacuzzi tub! then it was time for bed.

Monday was cold again, but we went down to the beach after breakfast to pick rocks, but it was way too cold with the wind off the lake. so Trevor played at their play area and we walked around the resort a bit. then we drove to find some hiking places but it started raining and rained all the way until after nap. we stopped at a couple buildings then headed back for lunch at rustic inn and nap time. after nap, mom left and it had stopped raining, so T, Al and I went to search out a hiking place again and found we could use some of the trails at gooseberry falls without having to pay. we practically had the place to ourselves. we saw the upper, middle, and lower falls (so much water!) and even saw a wood chuck and 2 deer. we had dinner in our room and then just lounged looking out at lake superior until bedtime. Tuesday morning we saw the sun over the lake for a bit, had breakfast, then went swimming (I borrowed mom's suit). we got showered, packed up and headed out. we stopped in Duluth for lunch and then Trevor napped on the ride home.
