2016 :: 6/52

this week was COLD! and I hardly took any pictures. Tuesday Al ended up calling in sick due to a head cold which started bothering him Monday night during his 12 hour shift. so Tuesday we didn't do much. Monday night Trevor and I went to cancun with the neighb's where he ate his whole cheese quesadilla!

Wednesday we had a bunch of errands to run. first we had to go sign for our taxes so they could get submitted. then we ran to get stamps and mail some letters and get a coffee. then we stopped at walgreens, then we had Trevor's 2 year appointment with Dr Sarumi. we were a little early so Trevor got to play in the waiting area for a bit before we got called. T is usually pretty shy in new places with new people, but he decided to give/play with his dump truck with the biggest, burliest guy in the room. :)

Trevor's 2 year stats: 26 lbs 7 oz (30%), 30.25 inches (90%), his head is in the 80th percentile, and his BMI is in the 5th percentile which is too low for comfort. so we have to continue with whole milk, supplementing with some pediasure, and pushing him to eat lots of good calories! Dr Sarumi did say it's likely in part because he's so tall and she wasn't too worried about it, but we do need to try to get his weight up. I was hoping to not have to stress too much about meal time anymore, but I guess that's not the case. (although, we went home after the appointment and he ate an entire piece of pizza plus milk and cottage cheese.) We also will have a speech evaluation done (they come to our house for that) because he should be saying 2 word phrases and he doesn't even really say full one words yet. She suggested getting started on speech issues now (if there are any) because until they're 3 they come to our house; after 3 we'd have to go through the school system. We're hopeful that the eval shows he's not too far behind and they can just give us some things to do at home with him to keep him moving forward. but we're not against doing some speech therapy if he needs it. He had his flu shot as his only shot and had to have blood drawn to test for anemia. the last blood draw was horrible so we geared ourselves up for another screaming, flopping battle, but he did great! both for the shot and the blood draw; he didn't cry at all. he just sat on my lap and watched the blood draw; and he got a lollipop at the end, which he loved.

Thursday, the 3 of us went to the children's museum (make up for when we were supposed to go on his birthday). we got there right when they opened so we had it to ourselves for a while. even thought we were just there a month ago, he still learned to do new things and we had a good time. we stayed for an hour & a half and then went to the grocery store.

Friday, Al had to go back to work but the rest of this month he has lots of day and day swing shifts (7a-3p & 11a-730p). Trevor and I went to the neighb's in the morning for a valentine's day party with our friends. :) Then mom came down after work. T, mom and I went to eat at the Mexican restaurant (the whole time Trevor was saying "ma" and "ja" for matt and Jodi cuz we were just there with them. sure enough, as we're finishing eating, who walks in? matt, Jodi, cam and chloe. :])

Saturday morning was freezing! -9 at 8 am when we went to swimming lessons. T did good, was chilly again of course, still doesn't like being on his back and wouldn't blow bubbles again. but he did jump off the side of the pool into my arms (we'd been practicing jumping into our arms off the bed). We came home, I gave T a bath and mom made monkey bread! Then we played at home and almost at the end of naptime, Al came home from work. mom made chili in the crockpot for supper and she headed home after supper.

sunday was valentine's day! Al accidentally woke Trevor and me up at 530 am while he was getting ready for work, but we still had a good morning. we had breakfast, did the dishes, cleaned some, rearranged some, ran to the grocery store quick (still cold), and played. we had an early lunch due to some eye rubbing and went down for nap a little earlier than normal. but T didn't fall asleep for a long time. Al came home at 4ish and we went over to the neighb's for a special valentine's day dinner. Matt made steak and shrimp on the grill plus mashed potatoes. I made salad, pasta salad and a raspberry jello/cool whip dessert. it was a great time and great food! and Trevor ate a bunch of steak (what?!) even though he wouldn't try the mashed potatoes (is he even my son?). we polished off 2 bottles of wine and had lots of laughs!

Monday morning, I cleaned and packed and then we went outside with the neighb's after dada went to work. we headed to mom's house after nap to start our 6 week stint of nannying eva and elouise (well eva's in school most of the time) on Tuesday's and Wednesdays until the end of march.
