2015 :: 12/52

since I stopped with the "trevor" section at the top of these posts, I've forgotten to jot down or note the new things he does each week. and I don't like that. so i'm going to try to remember to jot them down and include them in the posts again, even if they're just little things.

trevor: he pushes buttons and loves it (remotes, his laptop, computers, etc), he can walk really far on his own now as long as he starts and stops holding on to something (us or furniture), he can eat big chunks and spears now (Al gave him pickle spears with little slits in them and quartered grapes, and T did great!), tried his first peanut butter & jelly sandwich and loved it, has better hand eye coordination now: can put his rings on his stack (with 2 hands only) & put blocks into his sorter cube, he helps me clean up his toys now at the end of the day: will pick up or go get just about any toy I name (knows which one is which by name) and put in in it's basket or on it's shelf, puts his feet up when i'm putting on his socks, points at eyes in books, when asked will do something with his eyes, tongue and ears (scrunches eyes, sticks out tongue, or grabs ears), turns his head in a sort of peek-a-boo game it looks like he's doing a double take and he thinks it's just the funniest :) he helps dada carry his work clothes/stuff to the couch every night before work: he walks in front of Al holding onto Al's hands or work stuff and/or carry his clothes over his arm, clicks Al's pen in his work vest pocket, doesn't digest grape skins well, had his first fever most likely due to teething, points at things now but doesn't curl his other fingers under just points with his whole hand out but means what is at the end of his pointer finger

another crazy week for al between interviews in the cities, working tons of extra hours, trying to get in sleep & trevor time; luckily there was no track this week due to spring break. we also got about 3 inches of snow on Tuesday night but it was melted by Thursday. colder temps still in the 30s; we're ready to get back to our walks!

Friday we went up to the cities and did a wine tasting & dinner with manda and johnny. trevor stayed with their girls at manda's parents house and played. it was a good time with great friends, even though I wasn't fond of much of the 10 wines we tried. it was in downtown Stillwater and so we walked to brine's and had dinner afterwards. Trevor did great at manda's parents especially for not knowing them! they loved him and kept saying he did great and they'd be willing to watch him again. :)

then Saturday we came back to eau Claire since there was a track meet that Al could actually go to at stout. on the way home, we stopped at govin's farm in menomonie to see the farm babies and man, were they cute! I wanted to take them all home. Trevor and I got to hold a baby sheep, but dada held the rest of the animals since the others were pretty squirmy. Trevor loved looking at all of them and the people.

Trevor was still extra whiney this week and drooley some of the time. i'm really hoping this whining is coming from his molars moving and not just our new status quo; it can be exhausting. he also will not eat anything I make or give him for meals that isn't cereal, toast/bread, pureed veggies, or fruit. I end up giving him what he will eat by the end but may have to stop doing that so he will eat what I make for lunch/supper.

sunday Trevor wouldn't eat much at all; nothing we put on his tray although he would eat the pureed veggies I fed him. then after lunch he started drooling a ton and filled up 3 drool bibs to nearly soaking that night. after Al left for work I decided to take his temperature since he felt warm & his nose was a little runny, and he had a fever. I took it under his armpit and it was 100.4; that thermometer is not a very good one, but I had never seen his temp above 98.4 on it before. so I called the nurses line and had to leave a message. the nurse called back about 45 minutes later and although she said teething doesn't cause fevers (i'm still confident, especially after asking multiple mommy friends, that it was due to his teething), she made me feel better that a low grade fever is ok and just the body's way off fighting off something. she confirmed that I didn't need to give him Tylenol or anything else, just keep him comfortable.

at his diaper change & pj time, I took his temp in his rectum and it was 101.8. I didn't like that since the nurse said as long as it was under 102 I didn't need to worry much, but decided to see how he'd sleep. I put him in his usual pjs and sleep sack and he was out like a light. I was worried I shouldn't have dressed him so warm, but couldn't do much about it once he was asleep. he woke up once an hour that night. at the midnight one he was on fire, so I took his sleep sack off, gave him some Tylenol, and hoped we'd get some more sleep. but not so. he was still up every hour, so at the 2 o'clock one I nursed him and he slept til 430. Al didn't get home til 430 so he helped after that but Trevor was crying if we weren't holding him until at least 530. it was a rough night but he woke up without a fever and was playing as normal. we'll see how he does next week.

he also had trouble digesting grape skins. I had given him grapes before but I peeled them when I cut them up. this time we just cut the grapes with the skin on them and gave them to him, but the full skins were coming out in his poop as well as it was extra stinky and acidic. it took me too many days to figure out it was the grapes, in fact, I had to have Al look at the poop & he figured it out right away. I bought 2 bags of grapes since they were on sale so I had given him them every day; after we figured it out, I kept him off grapes the rest of the week, but may try them again without the skins.
we borrowed his rocking giraffe from grama's house.
he loves to get on it, rock it, and get off it all by himself
