trevor :: 39th week // 9 months

11/4/14

trevor: first swim, 2nd north shore visit, 1st halloween, started using convertible carseat instead of infant one, scrunches his nose lots when smiling, likes when we move our hands back and forth on his mouth as he's making noise like a little indian, ate little puffs by himself - figured out how to get them into his mouth, we were stacking blocks and I would tell him to put the last block on top and he would try & got it on the top a couple times, he rolled/threw a ball back and forth with me,

------------------------

Tuesday I finally bit the bullet and figured out how to install his convertible, big boy carseat in the explorer. it took a bit as I didn't realize you could/had to lock the seatbelt. he wasn't sleeping well or at all in the infant carseat and he was just about too long for it anyway according to the sticker. it's much nicer than our hand me down infant seat so I have to get used to the fancy trinkets on it but so far he seems to like it.

Wednesday and Thursday we ran errands and got things done before our busy weekend. Thursday Al took the dog down to Wausau because grandpa peter was watching him while we were out of town.

Friday, Halloween, we went up to the cities once Al was awake. trevor was a pumpkin all day, then was darth vadar and a giraffe at night. :) he didn't have a great schedule going and so took a very late nap in which he didn't wake up until after 5. so we got a late start on our trick or treating and didn't get to visit everyone we wanted to. but we did get over to see my dad & grandpa and my great aunt sara jane and uncle Gordon (patty, jim and cooper were there as well). they all loved him, of course, and he smiled away. I would have liked to be able to stay longer and to get over to my great uncle billy and aunt mary lou's but hopefully next year. when we got back to mom's we went to the couple of neighbor's we know well and got a ton of candy as there weren't many kids on mom's road this year.

Saturday mom, Al, Trevor and I went up to silver bay, the north shore, with a lot of mom's side for grama's 97th birthday. it was fun but busy and short. we all stayed at the americinn up there so it was fun to hang in the lobby with everyone. T took a good afternoon nap in the room and then we went to dinner in finland. dinner took longer than we expected so us with kids just went to bed. then the next morning, after daylight savings time which was a bit rough with the littles, we had continental breakfast and then went swimming, Trevor's first time! it was a bit cold for him so he wasn't as active as I expected but he did great! there was a big waterslide that us adults went down and it was so fun!

sunday we headed back to mom's with a stop at the outlet mall in north branch. we were all pretty exhausted and luckily Trevor slept really well in his new carseat. sunday night we played some cards and uncle tyler made us spaghetti for supper.

Monday we headed back to eau Claire then went to get the dog from grandpa peter. once we returned home, we were really ready to not be in the car anymore!

Tuesday was our 3rd anniversary and Trevor's 9 month birthday! :)

trevor :: 38th week

10/28/14
I can't get him to smile in these pictures anymore

trevor: tried a steamed carrot and broccoli, ate some of thee steamed carrot slice, tried and loved a raw green pepper slice although didn't actually eat it, started babbling, his 4th tooth the other bottom one came in, held his own bottle from my mom, sat up in crib by himself, moves his chin up and down while talking or not a lot

----------------------
Wednesday Al started back to work after over a week & a half off (which felt a lot longer, thankfully). it was a little weird but it was only for 3 days.

Thursday Trevor was a bit fussy so around lunch time I thought i'd put him in his high chair and give him a snack to entertain him. I gave him a mum mum cracker and he downed it; he's getting good at eating those. I was eating my lunch at the table with him and I had some raw veggies, so I thought i'd give him a green pepper slice. he loved it! he chomped on it for a good long time. I don't think he actually ate/swallowed any but he chomped on it and broke some pieces off (which he spit out). once he was over being in his high chair, Al took him out and had T on his lap. all of a sudden Trevor was smacking his lips and kind of chomping; he'd stored a piece of pepper in his cheek and was playing with it in his mouth. :) I did the same thing when I was little.

I had tried slices of steamed carrots with him a couple days but Thursday night after having the pepper for lunch, he ate half a carrot slice on his own. and actually gummed it and swallowed it! he ate everything I fed him too: the yogurt (mixed with banana), pumpkin and peas, all of which he had refused at one time or another.

Thursday after his afternoon nap didn't go well and he had been fussy, I put the amber teething necklace on him again and he was happy as can be the rest of the night. I think we'll have to order one for ourselves as we're still borrowing Luke's.

he also, on Thursday, started babbling; it's so cute! it's all b and d sounds, and his little chin and cheeks go up and down when he does it. he's so adorable! I have good videos of it but I can't figure out how to get them off my phone to post. :(

Saturday we went up to the cities, again. Saturday night we had our beloved game night at manda and johnny's. mom watched trevor so it was just al and I over there and it was a good time! we played several card games, laughed and didn't get back to mom's until 2am, uffda!

sunday we were tired but we went over to shane and Jodi's house to watch the Vikings game and then Al stayed there to watch the wrestling match. trevor slept well all weekend (knock on wood).

Monday we drove back to eau Claire, went to an apple orchard for more apples, and grocery shopped. I thought I saw something in trevor's mouth when he was smiling so I put my finger in there and sure enough that 4th tooth had popped through, his 2nd bottom one. also, a little while after I put him down awake for his afternoon nap I turned on the picture on the monitor because he was still making noise, and he was sitting up in his crib. I have no idea how he did that, he hasn't even come close to getting himself into the sitting position from laying down. I figure he must have used the bumpers some how but I wish I could have seen him do it; clever little boy. guess we'll be lowering his mattress in his crib soon. he didn't nap well Monday either, possibly because of that tooth?

shopping at menards.
his little feet still fit into the booties grama made him that he wore after he was born :)
at the park, he's still not thrilled with swings.
his legs look so long here
we walked around the park a little with baby bear

he's been doing so well eating his mum mum crackers that I thought we'd try some actual food. I steamed up some carrots and broccoli for him. he puts everything in his mouth except this. :) he put the carrot in his mouth once and then when I put it in his mouth he took a couple bites and ate it. had nothing to do with the broccoli.
super baby!
he loves chompin' on those green peppers

decided he wanted all of his toys out of the bin :)
another one of uncle tyler's outfits
I waited a bit too long to try it on him,
it's a little snug :)

manda and I love peppermint doctor!
paper rock scissors for a house rule during cards
it's not often someone else gets to feed trevor since I nurse him,
but this time he did great with the bottle from mom,
even held it for himself.
although he preferred to sit up and drink it
 apple orchard again,
I told myself last fall that I would get my apples from apple orchards for as long as possible this season so that's what i'm doing. they taste so much better and supporting local food!
here we are in our matching vests!
 holding his own bottle
these 2 are actually from last week but al had taken them so I didn't see them/get them in time. i'm trying to be purposeful about being in at least some pictures with trevor, since i'm usually the one taking the picture, even if that means saying, "Al, will you take a picture of us?"
