2015 :: 47/52 :: Thanksgiving & Lefse day

Tuesday was Chloe's birthday party, so we went to the neighb's house in the morning for that. it was a great party with games, a craft, snack, pizza lunch, and cake & ice cream! Trevor played the games, did the craft, and ate at the table with the big kids. :) we also cleaned that morning for thanksgiving and T helped me.

Al had so many hours this week!! (ugh, stresses a wife out & makes her worry even more). he worked 11a-11p Sunday & Monday, but ended up staying late Monday night/Tuesday morning to help with a search warrant. well at 130a he got a call from a supervisor saying, "you know you work at 645a, right?" well, no he didn't know that, no one told him & it wasn't on the main schedule. so he got home at 2a and had to leave for work at 6a. then he had to stay late from that shift, too. he was supposed to be done at 315p

Wednesday morning we went and played at the neighb's for a bit before they left for the weekend. then in the afternoon, mom came down so we could get the turkey going first thing in the morning Thursday so that we could have thanksgiving lunch with Al before he had to work at 3p. it was a delicious, successful thanksgiving lunch with turkey all the fixin's and pie! trevor didn't eat much but the roll, but he hasn't been eating much so we'll keep trying with the leftovers. Al went to work at 3 in the sleet (it rained all morning) then it turned to snow.

Friday morning, Al, T and I drove to Wausau to see Al's family in the morning. we got to Althea/Grandpa Peter's house about 930am. we hung out with Grandpa Peter, Althea and Althea's boyfriend Chad til we left just before 2. Trevor loved Althea's pets, dog Griffin and cats Joey & Peppernut. we had a yummy lunch of ham, potatoes, green beans, brussel sprouts, etc. then Althea made pumpkin cheesecake parfaits.

Saturday was Lefse day at mom's house! all 3 of us went up that morning. they had about an inch or so of snow up there, so before nap Al, Trevor and I went out to play in the snow for a while. then trevor napped until everyone got there just after 2. Trevor liked playing with/near his cousins Ruby and Tula. he also had some fun with my uncles and aunts. we made lots of lefse, had lots of laughs, and drank some. :) it was fun but exhausting. then that night, after everyone left & T was in bed, mom's furnace wouldn't turn on. so we had to get the space heater near the bedrooms and mom slept out in the living room where her little fire place is. I didn't sleep much because I kept checking on trevor and the space heater to make sure he wasn't cold.

sunday morning we headed out right after breakfast and drove home to eau Claire and to heat. (the furnace guy came that morning after we left) Trevor took a long nap and I watched the Vikings game and tried to nap. Sunday was Al's Monday.

Monday morning we all ran to Menards and then came home and put our Christmas tree up. we were supposed to get snow/rain starting in the morning but didn't get anything (the cities had snow on the ground when they woke up).

Trevor painted birthday presents and cards :)

 he ate a whole slice of pizza!
 and loved the cake & ice cream :)

 the little kids didn't have blindfolds on (he has his crown on) but he did great following Jodi's directions for the game

 snack wands
wearing dada's work boots
 playing with cooper
 he took a digger while trying to get out of a wagon on the kitchen floor and banged up his lip pretty good. it only swelled at first and was a big spot, but wasn't as bad I thought. he did it right before lunch so eating was a struggle as it hurt him to bump it or get food on it.

 happy thanksgiving!!

trevor :: 43rd week

12/2/14

trevor: tried turkey & stuffing with gravy, moved his own feet for some steps while holding our fingers, got a new cousin: tula rae, first lefse day, loved lefse (fed himself), tried part of a burger and shaved pork sandwich at uncle tyler's birthday lunch, grinds teeth a lot, walked sideways while holding onto a table, puffs out cheeks when biting on things,

-------------------------------

mom came down on Wednesday for thanksgiving the next day. thanksgiving was freezing outside so we stayed in, prepped the food, ate, and played with trevor. it was a great thanksgiving and i'm so glad Al got to eat with us! trevor even tried some turkey and stuffing with gravy. he fed himself some turkey but it was slippery in his hands so he only did a few pieces. I think he's getting frustrated with purees and me feeding him so hopefully we'll get to try more real food for him to feed himself.

trevor has been wanting to hold our finger and pull himself up to standing, and while mom was here he took his own steps while holding on to our fingers. previously, we'd have to move his body back and forth to get his feet to move. they were tiny little uncertain steps, but still on his own.

also on thanksgiving, my cousin maren had her baby at 10:10am and named her Tula Rae after her mom (auntie diane's) love of tulips and that uncle jimmy called her Tules. we got to meet her at the hospital on Friday and she's adorable!! Trevor loved playing with kai and even stepped sideways while holding onto a table to get over to me!

then Saturday we had lefse day at mom's. it was good and Trevor did great! he went to everyone, smiled at everyone, and had people laughing with his fake cough/laugh he does! he loved watching everyone and shared his toys with Ruby and Ryan. we made lots of lefse and it was tasty! once everyone left and Trevor went to bed, mom, Tyler and I played wizard, again. so fun!

Sunday was freezing again but we decided to have Tyler's birthday meal since we were up (his birthday is Tuesday). mom, Trevor and I ran some errands in Eagan and then drove down to Shane & Jodi's house to pick up our wreaths. Trevor had a good nap in the car which doesn't happen often, but his sleep schedule is all messed up due to the holidays and so much going on.

we drove home late afternoon on Monday so that Al could sleep since he worked two 12 hour days over the weekend. we're hoping to get Trevor's sleep schedule back on track (or see if it needs to change a bit, but either way get on a schedule). Monday morning I took Trevor to the chiropractor and his hips were stuck but not nearly as bad as last time so that made me feel better about his sleeping and not crawling. we also had lunch at obbs with uncle Tyler and mom as Tyler's birthday lunch, kind of. Monday night for supper trevor fed himself almost a full thanksgiving meal: turkey, stuffing, wild rice, green beans. I think he's really ready to start feeding himself, I just don't know if I am. :) both because he's so big and because I don't really know what to make him. but i'm going to try to give him some of whatever i'm eating. he still ate a bunch of puree/cereal so we'll keep offering that after he feeds himself to insure he's getting enough.

Trevor is still drooling a ton even tho his 7th tooth is in far. i'm thinking that 8th one is on the way but I can't see anything or feel anything. hopefully it comes soon because he is a fountain. :) he is also waking up somewhere around 1 am again and not being able to put himself back to sleep (in addition to his 430ish wake to eat), so we're hoping to get him out of that again, too. and he rarely puts himself to sleep for a nap or bedtime lately so we need to work on that too, hard when he sit up tho. I've read that this usually happens around 10 months because they're learning to much movement (sitting, rolling, standing, steps, crawling, etc) so hopefully we're almost through it.
