ole schnikees: 2019

Monday morning after breakfast and some chores, the kids and I went to the library. once home, we woke up Al since he didn't have to work, played, snack tray/lunch, then trevor was off to school, and tova went down for nap. Al ran to the grocery store, while I worked out then did a big spring clean of our living room. I went and got trevor from school, we came home and all went and played outside until supper. then it was bath time, play time, books, and bed.

Tuesday was Al's birthday. it was a gorgeous day, 60 degrees and sunny. all 4 of us took off bright and early for the cities to go to the Minnesota zoo for Al's birthday (we let trevor skip school.) Maren Tula and Etta met us out there too. we walked the whole loop including going up to the farm to see farm babies and have ice cream. we also went to discovery bay to see the fish. the kids did great and had a good time; we all had red cheeks afterwards from finally getting some sun! mom met us for lunch before we headed home. Tova was asleep within minutes of getting on the highway. we hit some construction traffic in Wisconsin so we veered off the main highway and took a smaller highway into menomonie. we then stopped at the game park in menomonie and did that little loop. the buffalo was really close to the fence and tova liked walking the one trail part that she could. we then headed home and grandpa peter came over for birthday dinner. both kids were out once their heads hit their pillows.

Wednesday it rained all day but the kids and I went to Jodi's to play in the morning, trevor had school, tova and I went to pick up him and Easton, then we had a good night of eating, playing, laughing, and picking up before bed.

Thursday morning was the easter party at Jodi's house with the daycare kids. the kids had fun; did a craft, snack, game and then easter egg hunt outside. tova picked up some eggs and put them in her basket! then trevor was off to school.

Friday trevor did not have school and Al didn't work. in the morning, we walked to the school park down the road and met Jodi and the kids there. it was so nice out we stayed for almost 1 and a half hours! then home for lunch and nap. when tova woke up from nap, she had a 104.8 fever. so I called the nurse line and they suggested taking her in. I took her to urgent care and we were there for almost 2 hours. but we got to see my favorite doctor! they tested her for strep and a bladder infection (which I had to bring her pee in later that night for), and mentioned influenza but wasn't too concerned since she wasn't coughing. then home for supper and bed.

Saturday morning we were supposed to go up and help with yardwork at maren's house but with tova's fever (she ended up having fevers all weekend long) we didn't go. I did ibuprofen and Tylenol just about every 4 hours to keep the fevers down and since she'd get fussy and clingy and not feel well when they started wearing off. we went to a local plant store that was doing easter festivities for a short while. the kids did a mini egg hunt, then while we looked at the animals and trevor did his plant pot painting I had tova in the front carrier. back home for lunch (tova didn't eat well all weekend) and nap for tova. meanwhile trevor and I went to another plant store for some different easter activities and sitting with the easter bunny. then we went to a park (it was super nice out all weekend!) mom came down after they were done at maren's house. we were outside until supper when we dyed eggs and then ate them.

tova did not sleep well Saturday night, she woke up screaming 3 times but was feeling ok once she was up for the day. mom, al, trevor, tova, grandpa peter and I all piled in to mom's explorer and went to Wausau for the oleson/wilcox easter brunch. we had fun, good food, and it was good to see them all (they hadn't met tova yet.) althea brought her step son liam who is 2 weeks older than trevor so they had fun. and tova worked on conquering the deck steps. :) Rachel and corey had easter buckets for the kids and I hid eggs for them. tova was tired so we left about 1ish, but tova didn't sleep in the car. so she napped once we got home and we went outside for a bit but it was hot! 79 degrees! then we kind of just relaxed the rest of the night.
