2018 :: 45/52

Tova loves following her brother around and Trevor has figured out the pace he needs to go so that she will follow him, he'll either pull a toy for her to follow or he'll get down and crawl around and they're my little horsies. :)

Trevor comparisons: I went back to the blog post of trevor's 36 weeks and he had just gotten his top 2 teeth and 1 bottom, was just starting to roll over in his crib, was down to 2 naps (Tova's still at 3), and was just getting out of 6 month clothes (Tova's just getting out of 9 month clothes), he was waking every 4 hours at night (Tova does one 4 hour then 3 hours), and he was pooping twice a day which is what tova does as well (I was worried about this with her but I guess he did it too.)

Monday it rained most of the day and tova was a bit cranky. but I was able to make a bunch more baby food, played our new mini battleship game with trevor and once trevor got on the bus, I bagged up 5 more bags of leaves since the garbage picks up 10 bags for free this week. then Al and I had lunch, played with tova, watched our show, I showered and ran to get milk and trevor from school. once home, Al left for work, tova went down for her late cat nap, I made supper and all of a sudden it was time for pjs, books and bed. busy day!

Tuesday was rainy and cold so we stayed inside until we put trevor on the bus. Al worked so it was just the kids and I again at night.

Wednesday morning my nagging thumb and wrist pain got almost unbearable, so once Al was awake, trevor was on the bus, and tova was fed, (and 4 calls trying to find a doctor to go to) I went to urgent care for it. I saw a doctor eventually, he ordered xrays, then after the wait for the xrays to process he looked at them and didn't see anything so determined that I had tendonitis in my wrist and possibly thumb. (about a month ago, I had felt a pop in the base of my thumb while stirring something and it was sore then painful from there.) he got me a hard brace, ordered me to take ibuprofen, and said to call back in 2 weeks if it was better. that all took 2 hours, so I ran home, fed tova, then went to get trevor from school. Al was off work so we hung out as a family all night!

Thursday was the best day of the week so once tova was down for her first nap and Al was awake, Trevor, Al and I went outside to put our outside stuff away and bring some of the pumpkins to our compost bin. also, Al blew all the leaves off our mulch and we bagged those and put some on the garden. then trevor went to school and I went to volunteer in his class from 2-4. I had fun, although I was a little unsure of what to do/my place, but I got to play with some of the kids, see how his class goes, and go outside when they all play on the playground. then we grabbed Easton and drove home (I've been bringing Easton to Jodi's house 2 times a week since getting him off the bus was hard for matt with the other kids and Jodi gone at volleyball at that time.) while I was at trevor's class, I had gotten a voicemail from urgent care to call them back so I decided to call them back when I got home. when I was almost to Jodi's house, I got a call from the clinic that I thought was urgent care again, but it was a nurse with the orthopedic doctor who specializes in hands and wrists saying the doctor wanted to see me at 920 the next morning. I was super confused as to why and she couldn't tell me so we decided i'd call urgent care back first. I called, but had to leave them a message to call me back. they eventually did and said the doctor had seen a bone fragment at the base of my thumb and they'd referred me to the orthopedic doctor. since it was after 5, I couldn't call the ortho back to confirm the appointment.

Thursday night it snowed, so we woke up to about an inch of snow Friday morning. right at 8 when they opened, I called to confirm my appointment, then at 850 I woke Al up to watch the kids while I went in. once in the doctor showed me what he saw, told me I was a mystery woman because he couldn't figure it out, checked where my pain was (not really in the thumb, more in the wrist), took his own xrays including ones of my good wrist, then determined I have an irritated ganglion cyst in my wrist. also that my wrist bones have much larger spaces in them than the average person. so we settled on getting a cortisone shot instead of just resting it in a different brace in hopes that my pain while picking tova up would subside quicker that way. I was in and out of there in 25 minutes! but my wrist was painful/sore all night. I got back home, Al went back to bed, tova was napping so trevor and I went outside and shoveled the driveway & patio then in for lunch. after lunch the kids and I went back to the clinic for our flu shots. trevor went first and did great, didn't even cry, then I went (2nd shot in 1 day), then tova who was overdue for a nap... but she did pretty good, she cried but stopped shortly after I picked her up. home for nap and rest time, Al got up, I showered, Al got ready for work and left, we had dinner, played games, watched a movie and bed.

Saturday morning mom came down so we played with her. once Al was awake, mom and I ran to a craft sale and then sam's club while tova napped and trevor watched a movie. then Al got ready for work, while we played some more and had supper. my wrist was feeling better but still a bit sore.

sunday morning Tova woke at 5, I fed her, and then she woke every 15 minutes crying until we got up at 7 (sometimes she'd go right back to sleep, sometimes i'd go in there and soothe her.) so we were tired and tova was really gassy and not as active or eating as much baby food as normal. couldn't tell if it was her tummy or the 2 top teeth that she's working on or what. we played some more with mom before she left just before lunch. we saw Al for about an hour before he got ready and left for work. :( but we had a pretty good night. oh and Jodi's volleyball team that she coaches won regionals and move on to the elite 8 in Pittsburgh next weekend! we watched the last match online! (university of Wisconsin eau Claire blugolds volleyball!)

 pulling up on low things now
 runs her head into our legs when she wants to be picked up

 first time chomping on pieces of veggies:
cucumber
 celery
she'd scrape her bottom teeth on it and get little chunks off

 he's been sticking his tongue out when concentrating lately

 Al started putting this big pillow on the floor for her and she loves belly flopping/face planting on it. she'll do it over and over again. :)
