2015 :: 20/52

trevor: we have weaned down to 2 nursing sessions a day: one before bed & one first thing in the morning (this one is mostly just to tide him over until we get to manda's so he can have breakfast), he's down to one nap now too which is awesome but he falls asleep in the car a lot and on the weekends sometimes he'll still take 2 (still adjusting), his third molar (top) poked through still just has half/partial molars, another eye appointment, started sort of playing with the girls and chasing them around, learned to step down the stairs at the park on his own using the railing

Tuesday was chilly outside and we nannied as usual. then Tuesday night about 7ish we headed for eau Claire; Trevor slept half the way. once home he got into his jama's, nursed and went to bed.

Wednesday we had his eye appointment in Marshfield again so we had to hit the road by 9 am with Al for his 11 am appointment. T napped most of the way there (still adjusting to the one nap & it's hard to stay awake in the car :]). we had another 5 minute appointment (long way to drive for such a short appointment) but the doctor said it's still improving so no glasses, patching or surgery for now (still could have those in the future, just not needed now). we'll go back again in 6 months (at least it's not every 3 months again).

after his appointment we grabbed lunch and went to find a small zoo that Al remembered was there. we had a picnic lunch at a playground and then drove a little further to the zoo. it was a great little zoo with a bald eagle, hawks, owls, lynx, timberwolf, mountain lions, cranes, buffalo, elk, deer, fox, prairie dogs, etc. Al and I loved it and Trevor seemed to like the animals he could see, mostly the ducks and geese around the ponds. we chatted with an old guy who walks there often and he would call out to the animals and some would react/come to him, especially the foxes. it was so fun! we'll definitely be going there every time we're there. we drove around to see the buffalo, elk and deer, and then headed for home.

Al had track practice (almost done with track!!) and Trevor and I played outside with the neighb's. we then headed back to mom's at about 7 pm (so much in the car time!) so that we could nanny again on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday was a beautiful day!! I was super tired and couldn't find my patience but we got through it. we went to the park in the morning and Trevor learned to step down the stairs on his own using the railing. we also played in their backyard after naps/school. Friday was nice out too! and mom came down to visit us at manda's (and brought us diapers...) so we went to the park again.

Al came up Saturday morning about 1230 (after working until 630am) because we had a wedding to go to. mom watched trevor while we went to the wedding near my high school and the reception at the union depot I downtown st paul. it was my high school friend Amy (who plays softball with us now) marrying a guy from our high school as well. it was a beautiful wedding and reception, and we had a good time. it was great to see some of the girls I went to school with and played sports with; it had been a while since I had seen them. we were at a table with mona and matt; mona was a year younger than us but played sports with us too and now plays softball with us. her husband matt also subs with us. we ate, drank, laughed and danced. we were home by 11.

sunday we went back to eau Claire (Al had to work and ended up not getting home until 7am) and then came back up to mom's on Monday (memorial day). mom, trevor, and I ran some errands and had lunch out. we stopped to see maren, nick, uncle jimmy, tula, and kai quick too.

with the 1 nap, he finally sleeps hard enough that i can take pictures of him :) he loves his blankies!

2015 :: 19/52

we started our 4 week nannying gig this week and it's going good. it's exhausting jumping from one toddler who takes 2 naps a day to 3 kids, 2 who are in diapers & nap, 1 who goes to preschool, meals, snacks, making sure they don't just watch tv all day, etc. but even with the exhaustion, it's good! the girls are so good and easy and play well together or alone and Elouise is easy to put down for her nap. Eva is so helpful and smart and independent. plus I get to braid/do their hair every day! they're great with Trevor and we even started Trevor on 1 nap a day to line up with Elouise's nap & Eva at preschool so I get a bit of a break in the afternoon. it's the best when we can get outside; they have a park down the block and a great fenced in backyard! but even on the rainy day, the girls colored, did puzzles, we played upstairs in their giant room, and it was great!

Monday night Al came up to see us and he had an interview Tuesday morning. then after his interview, he came over to manda's house and hung out with us for a bit. he had to get back to ec around noon to get to the track meet so he could coach.

Wednesday night I got to play softball with my ladies and it was so good to see them! we got to play 11 players in the field so I got to play behind second base and it was a fun position to play! I also hit a triple with the bases loaded and we won by 1 run! then Wednesday night Trevor did not sleep well; I saw every hour on the clock but by the time i'd get up to go in there, he'd be back asleep. he wasn't feeling well all day and felt a little warm, but did ok. he woke up crying 4 times in the first hour of his nap, so I gave him some motrin and he slept until 4 (usually sleeps til 230ish). he was really warm that night and once I found the thermometer, his fever was 103. I gave him some more motrin before bed and he slept good the first half, then woke up a bunch. Friday we ended up not going to nanny, and headed home to eau Claire just before 10. trevor slept hard the entire way including our stop to get gas (he doesn't stay asleep when the car is not moving and off very often).

after lunch and Al got up, Trevor's fever had broke so we went garage saling and found some great sales! found some toys i'd been looking for and some other things at great, cheap prices!

we spent Saturday in eau Claire so we could see Al between him waking up and going to work. trevor and I tried to go garage saling after our target run in the morning, but he fell asleep in the car so I drove by a whole bunch and just looked at them. I let him sleep about a half hour in the car in hopes that he would still take an afternoon nap. he did, for 2.5 hours! then Al made burgers on the grill. trevor and I went to the predators game with the neighb's that night and stayed until half time. trevor did good but he really wanted to just climb up the stairs the whole time. it was really humid on Saturday; gross! i'm not ready for that weather yet.

Al had to work until 7 am on sunday so once we got up, ate breakfast, and saw Al, we headed back up to mom's so Al could sleep and for softball. it rained almost the whole way and was super humid the rest of the day. once we got to mom's, I went to change Trevor's shirt and noticed a rash on him (I had seen a tiny bit of one on his chest previously). it was all over his chest, tummy, back and a bit on his thighs. it looked like heat rash; it was just small bumps and not very red. I called the nurses line and they said this rash is very common after fevers and is totally normal; also that I could expect it to last 2-3 days. poor guy, these darn molars are bringing in every symptom... (poor momma too as I get worried when something new happens, thankfully I knew the fevers were just from teething and would go away).

sunday he took a teeny nap in the car on the way to mom's and then took a longer afternoon nap. he's been doing great, but still trying to get used to the one nap thing. and staying awake in the car is hard, especially for an hour. :) it's easier for him to stay awake when not driving and when he as the girls to keep him occupied/busy. We didn't play softball due to rain/storms. Mom, Trevor and I went for a walk between rains and barely made it back before another down pour.
coloring with the girls;
he actually made marks on the paper this time

 we found some back stairs for him to climb on for a bit
