2021 :: 8/52 :: Tova's 3rd birthday

 wednesday was Al's last day to work from home. trevor had his usual school work and meeting. 

thursday was packing day for the cabin ice fishing trip with matt, jodi and the kids. matt and Al picked up the trailer we rented in the morning and we were all packed up and ready to go once we got the kids from school and jodi's last daycare kid left. it was in birchwood, an hour and 15 minute drive. we ordered pizza once there and enjoyed the large cabin and gorgeous view of the lake until it got dark. 

friday was SUPER windy so we spent most of it inside the cabin. the big kids did play outside for a bit and matt put tip ups up so we checked those occasionally. jodi adn i pulled up 2 good sized northerns (my first northern i've ever caught.) we had a little birthday party for tova and did some puzzle books, made snowmen out of marshmallows, played some games and had cake. we made tacos for supper. 

saturday at the cabin was gorgeous outside!! we spent most of it outside on the lake. we didn't catch much but some rays (sun rays that is.) jodi's parents came to fish for a bit. emily, joe and graham came to fish for most of the day. and jess, brandon, evrett and baby easton stopped by for a bit too. it was a super fun day! we just had leftovers for supper since we'd brought so much food! 

sunday while we were packing up it started to snow. by the time we left/had to be out at 9 am we had gotten over 2 inches. we got a little stuck getting out of the driveway and it was a bit of a stressful drive until we got to chippewa where there was no snow. then it was unpacking, napping for the kids, and relaxing. 

monday was march 1st and Tova's 3rd birthday!! we went to jodi's after school drop off and had a little party. i brought the leftover cake and the snowman making stuff and the kids loved those! tova got lots of presents and she was so good about saying thank you to everyone! mom came down just before school pickup so we had a little birthday celebration with her and when Al got back from work. she had a great birthday!

2021 :: 7/52

 wednesday trevor and i went up to the cities after breakfast to get our free birthday adjustment at our awesome chiropractor up there. it was snowing in minnesota but not the whole way through wisconsin so we went right to the chiro even though we were a bit early. then we visited a really cool toy store since trevor had some birthday money to spend. he picked a building set that has tiny little puzzle pieces and makes a race car. he also picked some jelly beans. then we went and met nana and unc-o for lunch at a restaurant near nana's house. it was trevor and my first time eating in a restaurant in a year. then trevor went back to nana's house with her while i went to bed bath & beyond to spend my birthday money. i got the sheets and hand towels i wanted! then i went to nana's house to pick up trevor and head home before rush hour. we made it home before supper. 

thursday morning i ran some errands after walking trevor to school then i came and picked up Al and tova and we ran some more errands. after i walked to pick up trevor, tova joined us outside; it was finally warm enough to play outside! we shoveled the driveway then went in the back. i shoveled the patio and got the snow off the boat while the kids played. they had so much fun! then came in for some hot cocoa. 

friday morning, tova and i went to jodi's to play for a bit. that night we had fish fry with them too! 

saturday morning, the kids and i went up to mom's house. saturday at about 3ish we headed to jodi, luke and henrik's house to go sledding with them. it was colder out than we thought but we walked to the school by their house and sled down a big hill; it was fun! but we didn't last too long with the wind. we walked back and the kids sled/played in their front yard for a bit (mom came with us too.) we headed back towards mom's house just before supper. mom had bowling that night. 

sunday morning i went to maren's house to work on Leni's baby quilt (she's 1.5 years old already, haha!) mom and the kids came over later to play with maren's kids. we made lots of progress and it started to snow just before lunch so mom headed back to her house before lunch. i went back to mom's at about 2, packed up, and headed for home. the drive wasn't too bad; just snow in the cities and in eau claire, nothing the rest of the way. once home the kids and i played outside in the snow for a bit! 

monday Al had his checkup podiatrist appointment for his broken ankle. the doctor said his ankle was good and he just needs to wear a brace at work and during sports and stuff. they did give him a week to get used to the brace before having to go back to work (but it was really only one more work day.) Al then had his eye doctor appointment and he now needs prism glasses due to his crossed eye. i worked at jodi's and tova came with me. 

tuesday morning tova and i went to jodi's again to work and we had graham's birthday party. then during nap time, i had my eye appointment and my vision has gotten slightly better but pretty much stayed the same!
