2016 :: 14/52

Tuesday was supposed to be Al's Monday but he called in sick because none of us were feeling much better yet, we were tired, and I had horrible sinus pressure/pain & headache. We didn't leave the house and didn't do much. that night Al slept out in the living room due to his snoring and we all slept good until Trevor woke up at 6 am screaming momma and crying hard. I went in there to get him back to sleep but it didn't work, he was too awake (thinking he had a bad dream?).

Wednesday morning T and I went to the neighb's house for a daycare birthday party for Easton and Kade. it was fun and T loved he crafts, snack, and had a little bit of the pup-peroni pizza (it was puppy/paw patrol themed). he even played with the kids a bit. he was out right away for nap (so strange for him). after nap I cut his hair. It turned out pretty good for my first time and he sat great (with his fruit snacks & a lollipop). :)

Thursday T and I ran some errands in the morning and then went to the neighb's after nap for a bit. that night we watched Cam and Chloe from 6-845. Friday morning Trevor was super whiney, like really whiney! I gave him a day bath since he was over due, which he enjoyed for the most part, then he ate most of his breakfast and was a little better. but was still getting into everything he wasn't supposed to, so I turned on paw patrol (his puppy show) and he watched it and I got a break for a half hour. then we went to the neighb's where Jodi had a ton of kids, so T played while I tried to help Jodi stay sane. :) Trevor fell asleep in 15 minutes for nap time, he's been so tired; don't know if it's from being sick, a growth spurt or something else?

Friday night, after Al was done with training class, we went out to dinner with the neighb's. went to a little place a couple towns over called foster's cheese haus to have their delicious brick fired pizza. we had never been and it was super good! they also had a beer/drink cave that you walked into to get your drinks and could just pick any beer/beverage out of the six packs in there. it was a cool little place!

Saturday morning Trevor and I drove up to the cities for the once upon a child bag sale that I scored at last year. i dropped Trevor at my friend from softball, Katie's house since she lived just down the main road that the sale was on in woodbury (nana was at state bowling and i knew i didn't want to bring T in to the sale with me). i was a little worried how Trevor would do since he doesn't stay with anyone other than nana, dada, or the neighb's without me. but he did great and Katie is great with kids. i did pretty good at the sale, not as good as last year, but still great. i got 2 bags this year for $15 per bag, and ended up getting the clothes for $.46/piece. i also added up the tags for how much it would have been at regular once upon a child prices (not even to mention retail prices) and it was $305.50. I was needing 3T t shirts, sweatshirts, and swim suits for him. I got some t shirts, lots of sweat shirts (a couple are too wide/short), 4 swim suits in different sizes, a winter coat, a puffy vest, a pair of tennis shoes, a pair of boots, some sweat pants of various sizes, and a couple other random pieces. it was mostly winter/warmer clothes, but still too good to pass up.

after the sale, i picked Trevor up (he didn't want to leave Katie's, she let him throw yarn balls down the stairs :]) and we made it home just in time for lunch and nap. after nap we went over to Steph, Tim and Lily (from swimming lessons, my friends from menards) house with Trina, Tyler, Courtney, Derek and their little Myla. Trevor had fun playing, we ate nummy tacos, chatted, and had a good time! we left about 730 so we could be home when Al got home from work.

that night Trevor did not sleep well; he was up at 11 and lots from 12-230a, so between him and Al's coughing, I didn't sleep much. but we got up, had breakfast, got some cleaning done, and then went to Govin's farm to see the baby animals. Trevor loved it, of course, especially petting the animals (the baby goats were just his size), riding the ponies (first time), riding on the wagon ride, and playing with "hay!" :) it was great weather, not too cold, not too warm, and we were there right when they opened so we didn't have a very full barn like last year. we saw and pet: lots of sheep & lambs, goats, chicks, piglets, chickens, big momma pigs, alpaca, mini horses, and baby cows. after nap, we decided to go out to eat. after we ate, we found a little park that we haven't played on yet and it was along side a lake. there were paths and a big open park area with sandstone walls; it was pretty cool. it was getting late and chilly so we didn't stay too long, but it was fun!

we didn't hear anything out of him for a while,
look around to find this: he'd snatched up dada's phone
and made himself comfy :)

 after the pony ride, we went on the horse drawn wagon. during the ride, T pointed at the big work horses and said "me on" :) he wanted to ride the big horses; that's my boy!

2016 :: 13/52

Trevor: is starting to say the second syllable in words now for example: ma-tt, jo-di, Georg-ie (curious George), har-ley, strep & left side ear infection (cefprozil), starting to say more words especially names,

Monday we played outside lots but also had lots of rest time as Trevor still had a cold. he especially didn't feel good after nap, really stuffed up, goopy eyes, and puffy face.

Tuesday morning, the speech therapist came at 820 am for the evaluation. Trevor warmed up to her quickly and he said more in front of her than I expected. at 9 am, the main birth to 3 lady came again to go over the results and what he's eligible for. he is at just over a 25% delay in speech and they have to be over 25% to be eligible for services. he has none of the speech skills for between 15-18 months, all of them for 18-21 months, and very little of the 21-24 months skills. some of the 15-18 month skills he's missing are repeating our words when we're conversing with other adults, asking questions like we've done (such as "what's that?" ex: when reading a book), using 2 words phrases, and not saying momma for everything. we decided to just do some at home exercises that the speech therapist told me and she's going to send some more brochures and hand outs of things we can do in the mail. we'll decide at 2.5 if he's progressed enough otherwise we'll do another evaluation at that time and then start services with her. the biggest thing is to play dumb and make him say more than momma or dada  and pointing and grunting for what he wants, make him say what he wants.

she also said he appears to just not have much interest in oral things or enjoy or know all the things his mouth can do. which is evident in his not using a pacifier or finger/thumb sucking, and his not being interested in eating. one thing we're gonna try is to stimulate his mouth a bit more with a spiraling toothbrush since he loves to brush his teeth and a vibrating teething toy that's usually for babies but we'll let him dip in sauces and bite down on to make it vibrate. she did say he's very smart; he was doing his letter puzzle when she came and she was super impressed that he knew so many letters and could identify them (he's way ahead of the game on that one). he also can follow directions well, even coming from her, and understands language, just doesn't verbalize it (which we already knew, but good to hear it from her/let her see it).

once they left, we packed up Trevor, Cooper and Camdyn in our car and went to Carson park with Jodi, Chloe and Easton to feed the ducks, play at the park, and have a picnic lunch. Trevor loved feeding the ducks/geese, went down the huge tube slide by himself, and climbed up a big boy ladder by himself. he didn't eat great but did eat some. he was super tired but didn't fall asleep until 2 and I had to go in there to get him to sleep. then he woke up coughing and crying/whimpering just after 3. I held him for a while in hopes he'd drain but he was still coughing and couldn't breathe through his nose. I got him back to sleep but only for 5 minutes before he was up coughing/crying again. we sat in the chair in his room for a while but he didn't fall back to sleep. he was really puffy again and goopy eyes, but was up and playing after about a half hour of sitting. dada got home, we played outside with the neighb's until supper time. once we came in for supper Trevor didn't feel well; he wouldn't eat anything. I took his temp and it was 102.9 so we watched a movie and he had his "juice" and some snacks, and then an early bedtime.

Wednesday and Thursday we cold and rainy and Trevor still had a runny nose and small fevers. I contemplated many times whether I should take him in or not, but then when I was convinced i'd take him in after nap or in the morning, he'd be fine. Wednesday we ran to target to get his toothbrush and teether toy, some groceries and we scored some good after easter sales on toys and things for Trevor ($.30 for socks, $.90 for a notebook/stickers, hats, etc). We went to the neighb's for a little bit but didn't want to stay long in case Trevor has something that's contagious. Thursday Al didn't work until 11 so we hung out with him; T's nose was still really runny, his temp was at 100.3, but he seemed good except he didn't eat hardly anything all morning or for lunch. right before nap his temp was 101.4. I was convinced i'd take him in after nap but he took a good 3 hour nap without waking up crying so I didn't. the sun came out after nap so we went outside with the neighb's and jumped in puddles and drew chalk on our driveway. that night Trevor did not sleep well and I had a fever and didn't feel well. plus Al didn't get home until almost 10 pm. Trevor didn't fall asleep until just before 10 and was crying most of the time between 9 & 10 and then again between midnight and 1.

Friday morning it snowed for a half hour but then I went garage saling for a bit by myself and got home just before A left for work. I found just a couple good things: some small toys for trevor, lots of books for $.25 a piece (including some characters he likes but doesn't have books for) and a sweatshirt for him. once home, I took Trevor to urgent care (I was sick of contemplating it after a week and sick of not sleeping). I also got checked out since i'd had a sore throat for 3 days and fever the night before. Also, we had some contact with a couple kids that had strep within the last couple weeks. sure enough, Trevor had strep and a left side ear infection. he was prescribed the same meds he got exactly, to the day, one year ago for strep (crazy!), cefprozil (3.5mL 2x/day for 5 days). I had tonsillitis and exposure to strep so I got amoxicillin (Al's allergic to amoxicillin so we haven't given it to T yet). we grabbed some chicken nuggets, milk and got gas while waiting for our prescriptions, then picked them up, ate lunch and nap.

Saturday morning, it snowed a bit so we had to wait to drive up to mom's house and Trevor was really whiney! the whiniest I have ever seen him, we just couldn't help him or get things right for him. once the snow quit and melted off the roads a bit, the 3 of us headed up to mom's house. we all napped a little bit while T did and Al and I decided not to take Trevor with us to meg's house that night. it was supposed to be a family get together but after a week of sick T and especially the whiney times in the morning, I was ready for some time away. so we left T with grandma and it turned out to be a good decision. Al and I went up to meg's house and got to hang out with meg, dave, skye, ty, manda, johhny, eva, and elouise. we had yummy foods, a couple drinks, some games, lots of laughs, and we back to mom's house by 11. it was a celebration of al's new position, reason to get together party. :)

Al had started to not feel well Saturday and johnny saw red spots on his throat at meg's house, then sunday morning he didn't feel well again. we were supposed to go to shane and Jodi's house sunday afternoon for wrestlemania, but decided that Al should go in and not spread germs (especially with T still not feeling great and my throat still hurting). so we drove home and Al went to urgent care. his initial test for strep came back negative, but the doctor said his throat was bad and she was certain his 2 day would come back positive (he just came in early) so she gave him meds. we laid low sunday (Al watched wrestlemania while trevor played and I cleaned) and Monday morning (I cleaned some more). we all were still not feeling well even on Monday after T and I had been on meds for 3 days; and we really didn't sleep well sunday night. hopefully this is all gone soon!
