2015 :: 37/52

Friday morning I went to the eau Claire consignment sale and got some great deals! it was busier than i'm used to but I got way better deals and on what we needed; I should go at the beginning of those sales more often. plus since it was busy, I just focused on what we needed and got in & got out. got T some thin long sleeve jama's in 24 month that we need now, the next size up sleep sack, and some shoes/boots.

then we drove up to the cities. Saturday morning we had our ALS walk in which the weather was beautiful! we had a good sized team pinecone again this year and went to stout's for lunch afterwards again. it was great to see family, especially the little ones! we got to meet the newest, Charlotte!

Saturday after nap, we ran to target to exchange diapers as we're finally needing to switch to size 4s. and while we were there, I measured Trevor's foot on the outline measurer thing in the kids shoe department upon my cousin's suggestion because Al had been mentioning that the size 5 shoes seemed a bit small. yeah, he's definitely a size 6 if not a 7 already! big feet! luckily, I had picked up a couple pair of tennis shoes in size 6 for him at the consignment sale and had a couple other pair from a once upon a child sale, or else he wouldn't have any shoes in his actual size. but I had bought those shoes thinking i'd be storing them til end of winter/spring. guess I gotta look for size 6 & 7 now at the sales. :)

sunday morning Shane, Jodi, & Luke came over to mom's for the boys to play and to watch the game. Luke loved Trevor and was constantly touching him or hugging him, it was so cute. T was a little unsure about the closeness of Luke, but he had fun showing Luke his toys. Al came up, too, right before the Vikings game started at noon since he'd had to work until 3 am that morning. the boys went down for nap right before the game so we were able to watch it without distraction. Trevor only napped for 1.5 hours while Luke napped for 3, so Trevor got some uncle shane and auntie Jodi time. it was a great, relaxing morning/afternoon.

sunday night Al watched Trevor while I went to softball and until mom got home from the Vikings game. then Al went over to shane's house to watch the packer's game and wrestling pay per view. we played softball in the rain the first game and then it quit for the second game. they were good games and we won both.

Monday we came home, played outside, and I planted some of the hostas I got from manda. my little gardens are looking good, I just hope they come back next year!

2015 :: 36/52

we played outside lots this week since the weather is finally starting to cool down.

Friday, Trevor and I went up to mom's house and then after lunch we all headed up to park rapids to my uncle jimmy's cabin. we took a little detour on the way to avoid some major delays due to construction. we stopped in motley to play at a playground and let Trevor run around for a while. it was a great playground for him and there was a little free library station there so he got a new book. :) then we stopped for something to drink. and we then ate at the royal bar (per usual) in park rapids. it took us 6 hours to get to park rapids when it's really like a 3.5-4 hour drive... Trevor slept for almost 1.5 hours.

we got to the cabin before jimmy and maren and tula so we turned on the water, unpacked, set up Trevor's pack n play, and played outside for a bit. we saw deer, turkeys and a huge woodpecker at the cabin. :) I went to bed a little after 10 and jimmy, maren & tula arrived shortly after that.

Saturday morning we got up, I made breakfast, we showered and got ready, and then headed over to the new resort we're considering moving to for our full family week at the lake. we toured the lodge, the grounds, and eventually saw inside every cabin. it has an awesome sandy beach with a playground on it and would be great for the littles!

we got back, Trevor napped, and mom & uncle jimmy made a tasty lunch. we all took a little nap at some point, hung out on the deck in the sunshine (and wind), and we took off back to the cities about 5ish.

we got back to mom's around 9 and Trevor fell asleep the fastest he ever has when being put down awake. :)

sunday morning Manda came to pick me up for our annual girls canoe trip down the st Croix river. we met Meg and Shannon at O'Brien and headed up to Osceola. it was a beautiful day on the river! the first half was perfect and we stopped at an island to eat, pee, and chat on a small sandy beach. the second half was very windy, a head wind! it was hard work and we couldn't even take a sip of beer or grab a bite to eat because if we stopped the wind would push us backwards. meg's parents brought the truck and trailer back down to O'Brien for us so we didn't have to go back and get it. it was a great day on the river.

I got back to mom's about 230 and had to play softball at 4 & 5 (manda, too). we won both games and it was beautiful out but still a little warm for me. sunday night I was exhausted!! mom agreed to put Trevor to bed, so I went to bed at 730. while at the cabin, my allergies flared up and I think I got a little bit of a cold with them too, so that added to my exhaustion. I slept until about 630am!

Monday morning T and I went back to ec to see Al as it was his last day off.

 he learned a new word at the cabin: deer

 I tried the back of our canoe this year but I am definitely not a skilled canoe-ist and had no idea how to steer. luckily, Manda does know how and we switched spots shortly after this. :)

 meg picked the muddiest "beach" for us switch spots on, my flips flops kept getting stuck in the mud. thanks meg :)
