2015 :: 5/52

no more weekly picture as we've finished all 52 installments! i'll keep the same general layout minus the weekly picture at the top (although i'd prefer to have a picture up here; it looks a little weird without one. i'll have to think about that). and I've changed the titles of them, but I hope to still post weekly.

trevor: figured out how to use his no spill snack cup, started whole milk (yay for no more pumping!), practically running behind his walker, reaches out for us when he wants something from us, helps clean up his toys, throws all his food on the floor, grunts when he's trying to muscle something, all about the "b" sound this week which includes his bottom lip out (so cute!), says balloon (or at least something close to it), loves to give kisses especially when daddy goes to work,

-------------------------

mom came down Friday night and stayed with us until Saturday night. on Saturday we had my birthday lunch at huhot and that's where trevor learned to use his snack cup (used to occupy him more than to feed him :]). it was delicious! we returned to have cheesecake! that evening mom made us homemade pizza while Al got ready for work. we also made it official and booked our flights to Alaska this summer!! i'm so excited to finally get up there and we're hopeful that our tax refund (which we should be hearing about soon) will cover the tickets!

Trevor is so fun lately! he loves to walk back and forth with his walker, play some fun little games, babble, laugh, reach out for things he wants, figure things out, and throw food on the floor while eating. his whining is now a signal that's he's getting tired or hungry. he loves to snuggle especially with his blanket.

speaking of throwing food on the floor, he has been really bad at this lately. everything goes on the floor. therefore, I have to feed him everything by hand rather than him feeding himself. it makes meal prep hard too because i'd usually give him some snacks (cheerios or such) and he'd be occupied with those for a while. but now they all just end up on the floor and then in beeker's belly. i'm hoping this phase ends soon! it's also hard to gauge how much he wants to/should eat when he's not feeding himself.

Al worked a TON this week (2 12 hour shifts and one 10+ hour shift) so we didn't do a whole lot other than grocery shop and get to target.

after a busy week last week, we have no plans for the rest of February. it's kind of weird, but i'm sure we'll head to the cities a couple times; there a bunch of people up there I haven't seen in a while. and then Al has weekends off in March again.
he likes to help feed himself with the spoon
and sometimes the bowl too

 he's into scrunching his nose and doing this little snort breathe in and out thing; it's pretty cute!

trevor :: 1 year / 12 months

2/4/15
 2/4/15

the day after his birthday we had his 1 year/12 month appointment. it was a rough appointment with 4 shots and blood draw. Even during his measurements Trevor was whiney and unsure which he hadn't previously done; maybe stranger anxiety a little? I cried a little when he cried during his shots this time. :( and the blood draw took forever and he cried the whole time.

anywho, his measurements are: 19 lbs 10 z (we were hoping he'd make it to 20 lbs, but nope :]) which is still on his 25th percentile track. he's 30 inches long, down to the 60th percentile. and his head is still huge at the 94th percentile. :)

Trevor took his first official, balanced steps on the night of his first birthday!! (just like I did on my 1st birthday!!) we also gave him a special, laundry basket in the big tub bath!

after he took his first steps to me,
we practiced walking between daddy and me!
he didn't do very many balanced steps
but did get a few
and we had lots of fun!!

 birthday selfies with momma

Trevor gave me another great birthday present: when I scooped him up for nap time he said "momma"!!! he usually only says "d" words (dada, dog) or num num!! hasn't said momma to me before!!!!!

For Trevor's first birthday, we decided to go to the Eau Claire children's museum since we'd never been there. so after lunch we went for about an hour and it is so cool! lots to do: a toddler area, a mini city, a big water play table area downstairs with lots of rooms of/for crafts, then upstairs is a camping area, fishing area, cow, tractor and foam block area. it'll be even more fun when he's walking and can do a bit more, but he loved it anyway.

the water was cold tho so he just carried 2 balls around :)
