2021 :: 44/52

 tuesday morning, Al was off, trev went to school and tova and i went to jodi's house for a little bit. then i dropped tova off at home with Al and drove up to the cities to go to mom's first breast cancer appointment/consult with her. it was a very informational appt and she has the best case that we could hope for. she'll have a lumpectomy in late november and then a bit a of radiation and then hopefully we're done with it!! i got back home just after al and tova left to pick up trevor from school. 

we had great weather again this week and dealt with a lot of leaves! we played outside lots!

thursday was Al and my 10 year anniversary!! after school i took the kids to the apple orchard for the last time and it was a little chilly/windy so we only stayed about an hour. we got apples and apple cider! 

friday morning after school drop off, mom came down. Al got the boat winterized and we got it in the backyard and covered. after school pickup, Al and i left mom with the kids for the weekend and drove up to the north shore. we stayed at our usual superior shores spot. we got up there late and had a late supper out at a restaurant for the first time in a very long time and it was delicious! i went to bed after we got unpacked and slept for 10 hours! 

saturday morning we got in the car and drove to silver bay for breakfast. after breakfast we toured up the north shore further than either of us had been. we stopped at some hiking trails and some new to us waterfalls and did lots of hiking. we made it to grand marais after noon and it was a cool town! we drove around, stopped at a shop then sat rooftop outside at the local brewery, had beer, and watched the badger game in the sunshine. we had gorgeous weather for up there in november!! then we headed back to two harbors. once back we relaxed for a bit then went and picked rocks at the condo and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset! Al ordered pizza and went to pick it and some beer up while i took a bath in the huge jacuzzi tub. then we had a night in watching star wars and the uwec volleyball team win conference! 

sunday morning, we got up early since it was daylight savings time, packed up and headed home. we got home about 1030 and went right outside to do yardwork/leaves with the kids. mom headed home so that she could do some yard work too. we watched both the vikings and packers games (i did take the kids outside after nap during the packer game for a bit.)

monday was back to work for Al, school for trev and jodi's for tova and me. it was still really nice out monday and tuesday so jodi and i got the kids outside for a long time both days, and i took the kids outside after school until dark both days!

 wednesday Al was off, trev was off to school, and tova and i hung out at home. 

thursday tova and i went to jodi's house for the daycare halloween party. it was fun but chaotic. tova was belle and then changed in to owelet at jodi's house. we brought a halloween trail mix for snack, they did a craft, played a game and exchanged treats. then home for a rainy, relaxed night since tova was feeling a little under the weather. 

friday tova still wasn't feeling great. Al worked until noon, mom came down in the morning, and since tova wasn't feeling the best, mom, trevor, and i headed up north once Al was home. it was the weekend we finally got to celebrate my grama's life and have a little funeral for her on her birthday. once mom got down to our house she informed me that she had just found out she has breast cancer. it was caught really early and it's really small and non-invasive so we're hoping for the best! once trevor, mom and i got up to silver bay we went right to the beach to pick rocks. maren, nick, kai and the 3 girls met up with us there. then we went to the hotel to check in, unpack, and meet up with family in the lobby. we ordered pizza and then let the kids swim until it got there. we had the party room in the hotel so we ate the pizza in there and trevor got to stay up late and play cribbage with a bunch of different people. then we went to bed to read and slept well. 

saturday morning tova was feeling better so Al and her headed up. saturday morning a bunch of us walked grama's walking route, kids played on the play ground, we went to the thrift store, went to the agate shop, and trevor and i hiked down to a waterfall/river before heading back to the hotel for lunch and to get ready. we made pb&j's in the hotel room, got ready, al & tova got there at 115, got tova ready then we headed to the service at 2 in grama's favorite color, green! the service was very nice and there were definitely tears. then there was cake and coffee at the church afterwards. then we went to the liquor store/bar for a drink and toast to grama. then back to the hotel for a hot dog bar!! and hang out with the family. we then went in to the party room again to hang out. tova asked to go to bed so Al put her to bed, and a little while later trevor was tired so i brought him up to the room too. after a while in the party room, uncle jimmy, clare, uncle ronnie, tyler, kai, khloe and i went to the bar to have a drink and watch a bit of the hockey game. 

sunday morning after breakfast, the kids swam with their cousins and then we bathed them and packed up. we went down to the beach one last time before hitting the road. we got home about 315, all napped or had quiet time, and then got ready for trick or treating. we went to the church near our house for their trunk or treat then did a couple blocks around our house including visiting grandpa peter. then home for supper and the kids loved handing out candy to the other trick or treaters. 

monday morning Al was off, trev went to school, tova and i went to jodi's house. during nap time, Al and i raked/swept the whole backyard and Al took a load of leaves to the compost place. after school pickup, i worked out and then we had supper and a quiet night.
