2021 :: 31/52

 monday we all slept in except Al since he had to work. we got unpacked and laundry done. we walked up to sam davey playground with jodi and the daycare kids. trevor had karate at 145 so grandpa peter came and sat with tova. i went and got my hair cut with jenny at night. 

tuesday we took Al's packages in, got coffee and donut holes and had a relaxing morning. trevor had soccer at 645 and his sprained ankle was still a bit tender but he did good. 

wednesday was Al's only day off this week. he took the kids grocery shopping while i got some things done around the house. trevor had his last karate at 145. it was trevor's half birthday, 7.5!, and he got to choose supper; he chose cancun and got to choose the movie for the night. 

thursday the kids and i met mom at the washington county fair in minnesota. it's my favorite fair and i've been going most of my life. we also met mona, ollie and lucy there again this year. it was great weather, not too hot, not too sunny, we only got a couple sprinkles on us, and it wasn't very busy! we had lots of fun and time went by so fast. the kids did the family fun day things, made seed pods, pet animals, ate some good food, and then the rides/carnival opened at noon. the kids did a bunch of rides and loved it! then we headed home where tova took a nap. trevor had his last soccer game at 745 that night. al and tova stayed home so they could go to bed, but unc-o and nana drove down to watch him play. 

friday morning we went to liam and elliot's house to play until lunch time. after nap, we went to their grandma and grandpa's house on the river to swim and use their new water slide which the kids loved. we also had dinner there. 

saturday morning mom came down and i got to workout at the gym at 9am. after lunch, jodi, camdyn and chloe came and picked up trevor and me. we went shopping at a new warehouse store and then the kids had a birthday party at the indoor waterpark (which was good because it rained all day!) jodi and i went to the plant store near there and the little cafe there while we waited for the kids. once home it started downpouring for like an hour; our roads were flooded and Al almost didn't make it home from work. 

sunday it rained a bit more. mom went home after lunch. 

monday at 2pm we headed out and met grandma DD and grandpa Rick at a beach in birchwood. it was a great beach, the kids swam, we had pizza, and played. it was a fun night! we had to head home just after 6 to get tova to bed since she didn't nap.

2021 :: 30/52

 tuesday we left for almost a week at uncle jimmy's cabin with matt, jodi, cam, chloe, and carsyn. we took the minnesota route there and hit some construction and traffic on the way up but we got there in good time (5 hours.) matt & jodi followed us with their boat. we had supper at the cabin, put the boat in and hung out until bedtime. it was super hot and humid out especially for up there and it was so hot in the cabin. we let the kids swim before going to bed. matt and al went fishing just before dark.

wednesday was hot and humid again. jodi and i ran to the grocery store first thing to get our groceries for the week. once back, we took matt's boat out tubing and by the end of the day it was beeping for the oil light. the kids loved swimming off the dock and the diving dock. and we took uncle jimmy's pontoon out and we all swam off that too. 

thursday morning the smoke from the wildfires in canada blew in and it looked and smelled like everyone on the lake was having a bonfire. we went to the new shop/adventure park that's near the cabin for the first time. it was fun! they had hammerschlogen, slingshot, football toss, big tube slides, a log jump, goats to pet & race, life sized foosball, gaga ball, and a little nature path to walk. we had lots of fun and stayed until lunch time. the kids got to pick out something from the candy store at the end too! during nap, matt and i took the big kids out tubing and had lots of fun but the boat started acting up again so wee had to be done with it. after nap, we took the pontoon out again and swam off it. we went and had supper at zorbaz. after supper we all went fishing on the pontoon. 

friday morning Matt and Al pulled matt's boat out and took it to a mechanic in town who later in the day called and said the oil pump gasket/seal needed replacing but they didn't have the part for it. so during nap matt went and got the boat and parked it on the trailer at the cabin. the kids swam and played for the morning, then during naptime jodi and i did tie dye with the big kids. mom came up friday afternoon. after supper, al, matt, jodi adn i went fishing until bedtime. 

saturday morning, mom, jodi and i ran into town quick to drop things off at the dump and shop a little bit. we grilled burgers for lunch. after nap we took the pontoon out again to swim off of but the clouds had rolled in along with some wind so it was a bit chilly. matt made breakfast pudgie pies for supper on the bonfire and we also had s'mores. we took the pontoon out for a sunset ride that was so nice. 

sunday morning the kids wore their tie dye shirts, the big kids fished while we packed up and cleaned and cam caught his biggest fish of the trip. once the cabin was cleaned, we were packed up and everything was washed we headed out taking the duluth/wisconsin way home. we stopped in walker and grabbed a gas station lunch since there isn't much to eat along the drive. we stopped at our usual playground to use the bathroom and let the kids play. then we grabbed a very late lunch in superior and ate it t amnicon falls. we walked the little ways to the falls for a bit then got back in the car. we didn't get home until after 630 so it was unpack, feed the kids a little bit, and then bedtime. 

we had a great time at the cabin but were glad to get home to a/c and our beds.
