2021 :: 2/52

 monday and tuesday Al was off, trev had school, tova and i worked at jodi's house in the morning. after school was games, playing and watching a little tv. tova got to feed baby easton at jodi's house and she was so excited! she's loves him/babies; when we get there in the mornings she always goes to him first. 

wednesday morning the kids and i went sledding at the small hill at the high school near our house. it was grassy since we don't have much snow and it was sloppy because it was so warm out but we had fun!! it was our redemption sledding since it was the first time we'd sledded since tova hurt her knee. she did great and loved it! cam and chloe walked over to sled with us and we were so glad to have them. tova spent almost the whole time with camdyn and we all kept having to peal off layers; both due to being warm and wet. trevor had some school work to do and had his class meeting at 2. 

friday Al was off so he, tova and i spent the morning downstairs after i dropped trevor at school. tova got to play original nintendo mario and she actually didn't do too bad. 

saturday morning we went ice fishing with matt, jodi and the kids. we just went to the small lake in eau claire but we had fun! it was the kids' first time ice fishing. matt had enough stuff for us all to fish! it was sloppy because it was so warm. only Al and jodi caught fish (tiny pan fish) but the little girls kissed the fish and we all had fun! tova's snow pants were not good and she got soaking wet. so for the last 15 minutes tova and i sat in the car; her pants and socks-less under blankets. she was actually pretty warm for how wet she was so that was good. then after nap, we went over to matt & jodi's house to watch the packer playoff game with them, jake & the kids, and jodi's parents. we had apps and the kids played downstairs; it was fun! 

sunday morning Al and the kids walked over to grandpa peter's house in the morning. otherwise we just played at home. 

monday it was cold! so we drove trevor to school then tova and i went to jodi's to work.

 monday was back to school for trevor, back to work for Al and back to work at jodi's for Tova and me. Tova still wasn't walking on her knee and i got the call on monday that she had an orthopedic appointment tuesday morning. monday after school pickup we played outside in the little bit of snow for a bit. tova crawled around and loved it and trev even crawled/knee walked around with her. 

tuesday morning after we dropped trevor at school we went to the ortho appointment. the dr rolled up her pants, looked at her knee, said it looked good, and then said he thought we should cast it for 2 weeks. it was a little confusing to me as to why he wanted to cast it so i asked if we could wait and see for a couple more days before choosing to cast it especially since we didn't really know what was wrong. he said he didn't see a problem with that so we set up an appointment for friday to cast it (full leg cast) if she didn't start walking on it. it was a 5 minute appointment then tova and i went to jodi's. once there i told tova she could walk on her knee, held her hands and she started walking on it. she definitely was sore after the morning at jodi's but it was good to see her put weight on it. Tuesday after school 

wednesday was virtual learning day for trevor and Al was off. tova was still limping pretty good and getting sore after a bit but still would walk on it. 

thursday morning i was feeling unsure about our friday appointment to cast tova's knee so i called our beloved pediatrician and she wanted to see tova. so we went in thursday morning and saw our dr sarumi. she looked at tova's knee, moved it around (with no pain) and watched tova walk on it (sarumi did way more with tova's knee than the ortho did) then asked why he wanted to cast it? i said that's what i was wondering. she said to cancel the appointment, it didn't need to be cast, just needed some time, an ace bandage, and ice. so we did just that and by sunday tova was walking normal with minimal soreness. 

thursday after school pickup we got changed and went out in the beautiful frosty tree winter wonderland with trevor's school bff Liam's mom to take some family pictures. we've been needing to update our family photos for a while and just didn't get to it this fall. once home the kids had some hot cocoa to warm up then it was supper and movie night. 

friday started Al's work weekend. tova and hung out at home and got some things done. 

saturday mom came down and we played games, puzzled, played outside, had more hot cocoa, and just hung out at home. she headed home sunday during naptime.

2020 :: 53/52

 Al was off monday and tuesday. we hung out at home in the mornings besides a couple of errrands/grocery store run. monday night we went to matt & jodi's house to have our christmas with them. matt made beer can chicken, we had supper, opened presents, played games, watched the badgers/a movie, and had fun! tuesday was cold and snowed a bit starting about dark. 

wednesday morning the kids and i shoveled the driveway and sidewalk and the back patio even though we only got just over an inch. we had fun outside. our road got plowed by the big grader so that was cool to see. 

thursday was new years eve. mom came down and we went sledding at a small hill near our house (at north high school) after nap. when we got there, trevor's school best friend Liam and his family was there too! trevor got to try out his new snowboard with a handle and tova loved sledding! she even walked up the hill by herself and carried the sled/tube up too! so nice! we had lots of fun but did get a little chilly. Al came home early from work due to a migraine. mom, the kids and i went over to matt and jodi's house about 5ish for apps and some games. Al came over once his migraine was gone. it was fun and we were home about 9ish. 

Al ended up working 5 hours on friday so that he could still get his holiday pay due to leaving with his migraine. mom, the kids and i played games. after nap, we all met matt, jodi and the kids at the north high hill for some sunset sledding. it was so pretty and we had so much fun! as it was just about dark, we all went down the hill together and nana, trevor and tova were on our double tube with tova in the front. matt and jodi and carsyn's sled went in front of them and they crashed. tova was crying and said her leg hurt. she wouldn't put any weight on her knee and was in pain whenever we had to move her leg/knee. it was only a little bit swollen and not bruised so we decided to wait until morning before deciding anything. she was up crying every 3 hours so i gave her meds every 3 hours. it took her from 10-1130p to fall back asleep the first time. she'd fall asleep on me but then i had trouble getting her back into her crib. 

saturday morning she was still in pain and wouldn't walk or put any weight on it and was in pain to move it so i took her in to urgent care. the urgent care doctor/nurse practitioner did xrays on her. there were no broken bones or fractures on the xray but doc said there were strange pockets of fluid in her knee which could signify a fracture that just is too new to show up on the xray. she said tova's injury was most likely from a trauma/hit to the knee rather than a twist which would be a sprain. so she probably ran her foot into matt's back and either jammed her knee or hyperextended it. the doctor referred us to orthopedics adn send the xrays to them. but since it was the weekend we had to wait until monday to hear from them. by saturday evening after nap, tova was not in as much pain, didn't cry during nap, and could move her leg/knee but still wouldn't put weight on it or stand on it. she did start kneeling on it and could get around on the floor. mom headed home saturday during nap. 

saturday night was much better and sunday tova was good except she couldn't walk. she crawled everywhere and needed more help than normal. sunday was packing up christmas stuff, reorganizing/cleaning putting away toys/presents, and playing some of the kids new games. also watching the last week of regular season football.
