2020 :: 26/52 :: The Lake

we had a fantastic week at the lake!! it didn't go by too fast or too slow. we had wonderful weather and even enjoyed the only daytime rain we had. due to covid/pandemic there weren't as many of us this year, about 26, but we had so much fun still!! we got in a family fishing morning on my dad's boat that my brother hauled up, Al got to go fishing every night after supper until dark except for one night, I got lots of paddleboard time, and the kids had lots of lake swimming and cousin time.

trevor was either playing with nate and Noah (9 & 10) or Tula and Lia (5 & 6). tova loved playing with Etta (3) and Leni (1). I did lots of little girl braids, got some sun time, played lots of games (fast track was the new game of the week), Al and I enjoyed the cribbage tourney, and we slept ok (even tho the bedrooms were so hot!)

Al caught and cleaned lots of bluegills and a couple walleye and 1 northern which he and my cousin Khloe then cooked up for the fish fry on Thursday. Friday night there weren't many of us left so we had dinner on the patio at the restaurant and uncle tim bought the kids all huge ice cream treats; they loved it!

2020 :: 25/52

this week it got hot!! so we weren't outside as much. this will also be a short week's post and then i'll do the week at the lake as it's own post Saturday-saturday.

Al was off monday and tuesday; on monday shane came down as he's traveling in wisconsin for work regularly now. he made a pit stop at our house in between meetings and then we grilled out and he stayed the night. matt, jodi and the kids walked by and so stopped to chat for a while after supper. then after bedtime the adults hung out outside and jodi came back. we stayed up too late and drank heavily but we had fun!

tuesday shane had a couple meetings, then came back to our house, then took off during naptime.

Wednesday and Thursday were hot so I set up the pool in the backyard. we got school lunch. Wednesday night matt, jodi and the kids came over for wings since it'll be a couple weeks before we can have them again. Thursday morning we went garage saling. I packed and prepped for the lake a bunch too.

Friday morning we all drove up to bloomer to meet grandma DD and grandpa Rick at a park to see them before we leave. we also got our favorite pizza and ate in the pavilion there since it started raining on us. then home to pack for the lake.

2020 :: 24/52

The weather this week was gorgeous!! not too hot, very little rain, sunny; we spent a lot of time outside. Al was off Wed & Thurs and worked all weekend. wednesday Al changed the front rotors and brake pads in the edge at grandpa peter's house so the kids and i walked over there for a bit to "help." that night we went over to matt & jodi's house for wing wednesday from hangar 54 (they've changed their wing special and price but they're still delicious!) i got to do some garage saling but haven't found anything great yet. thursday after nap tova woke up with her right eye swollen; she had had fevers the night before so the pediatrician wanted me to bring her in. we got the last appointment of the day at 420 and it was determined to just be a combo of allergies and teething. once we were back Al and trevor joined matt and camdyn on their fishing boat for a boys night. trevor had lots of fun and finally caught some fish this year! jodi, me and the girls went garage saling, picked up supper, and stopped to see sue and rogers' new deck boat. tova ended up not eatinig/not swallowing her supper so once we were home i looked in her mouth (which the doctor didn't do) and her tonsils were super swollen! i called the doctor back the next day and she said tova probably had a cold too which was a better explanation for the swollen eye. but she was feeling better by friday morning already and was done with fevers.

saturday morning mom came down and we went garage saling in chippewa and stopped at irvine park to see the animals. the bison were really close to the fence and there was a baby lemur! saturday night we all went over to matt & jodi's for a grill out; mom came, jodi's parents came and Al came after work. we played outside, played bags and matt's grilling was delicious as usual!

sunday mom headed home at lunch time and i started packing for our week at the lake.
