2020 :: 15/52

Tuesday it was misting all morning but trevor and Al went fishing with matt, cam and chloe at about 10. tova and I did some of her favorite things that are hard for me to let her do for very long when trevor's around too. she got to do big girl paints for as long as she wanted. she got to play doing dishes in the sing with bubbly water for a long time. she got to watch sesame street. after nap it started to get nicer out and was humid/warm so we went on a family bike ride. we went about 3 miles but trevor had to stop a bunch because he was hot and/or tired. his bike/wheels are so little and has no gears so he has to peddle a lot more than we do. plus we over dressed because I didn't realize it was so hot/humid. then we stopped at grandpa peter's house for a little bit before heading home for supper. after supper we watched the new kids movie that came out on Disney plus that we've been waiting for Al to be home to watch.

Wednesday morning the kids and I walked over to Jodi's to play outside and for trevor to try out cam's bike and he fit perfect on it! much bigger than trevor's current bike; so once they find a bigger bike for cam, we'll buy his bike for trevor. after nap, we played outside all afternoon until supper time! it was so nice out!

Thursday was a little chillier so we mostly stayed inside and did some school work and crafts.

Al was off Friday-sunday and sunday was easter. Friday morning we did a bunch of easter crafts while al went to the grocery store. we played outside after nap. that night after bedtime, we had a zoom hangout again with derek, sarah, shane, Jodi, matt, Jodi, katrina and my brother. we played some trivia and had fun.

Saturday was gorgeous outside!! we drove to govin's farm and did their drive-thru baby animal watching. then we came home and played outside until lunch. during naptime, Al, trevor and grandpa peter went fishing but didn't catch anything. after nap we went outside until almost bedtime. we had our first fire and burned all the pine needles and sticks we'd been collecting. we even ate supper outside; it was so nice out! Saturday night we had a zoom hangout with trina, tyler, steph and tim. we played a cool website game and had fun!

sunday it started to snow at 730am and it didn't stop until after midnight. we got almost 10 inches of wet, heavy snow. it was also easter. the kids got their easter baskets from the easter bunnies, we dyed eggs, the kids got in to their fancy clothes, and had an egg hunt. grandpa peter made a ham and came over for lunch. al made mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, I roasted veggies, and trevor & I made deviled eggs. after nap, we went outside and played in the snow. we made little snowmen, a snow horse for the kids to ride on, and had a family snowball fight. we had fun in the snow. then al and tova went in to make supper, while trevor and I shoveled the driveway and sidewalk.

Monday al was back to work and the snow stuck around so the kids and I stayed inside. we did some crafts and I started teaching trevor cribbage. he did great, is super eager to learn and he got a 20 hand!

2020 :: 14/52

Tova: I've been trying to keep track of all the cute/funny things tova says so here's what I have so far: when we pull her thumb out of her mouth and keep her from sucking on it again she says "eat it!" cuz she wants it back in, she'll climb up on you, say "cudd-o" (cuddle), suck her thumb & twirl her hair while leaning in to you; she says "yes I do" for everything ex: Al told her there was nothing left in her apple sauce pouch and she said "yes I do" for yes there is; "tova do it!" is a very popular saying for her because she wants to do everything for herself; she says "side down" or "up-ide down" for upside down and if there's a picture in a book that's upside down she always has to turn the book so that one part is right side up; her favorite song to sing before bed is mary had a little lamb especially if brother sings too, she calls it "mary went" and she knows about half the words; she'll say "broda sing" (brother sing) right after she brushes her teeth because she wants trevor to come in her room and sing too; she always wants you to read to her and she'll just say "read!"; when she finishes crying she'll rub her eyes and say "eyes wet" like she's irritated that they're wet; she now says "weally hungwy" (really hungry) when it's time to eat, she'll also say "tummy huwts" when she's hungry; when she's listing off characters esp mickey mouse or sesame street characters she'll say "how 'bout..." and then name the next one then "how bout..." and the next, on and on; she now says "I tiwed" (tired) when it past her bed time or nap time (which is weird for us because trevor never does that!)

Tuesday morning we went for our walk then came home and did some more school work/crafts. trevor did his writing prompt from his teacher which was about rain so we made some rain cloud & rainbow crafts. after nap we went back outside (it was so nice out) and I finished bagging up the old leaf piles. the kids played in the little bit of woods behind our house and found a rock pile they dug through and found lots of "crystals and agates" according to trevor. :) they like to play in grandpa peter's trailer that's parked in our back lot; I put the back down and they play for a while.

Al was off Wednesday and Thursday and both days were beautiful!! got to be upper 50s lower 60s out but windy. Wednesday Al got the yard fully swept and bagged. trevor got good at his bike even starting and stopping by himself so I got my bike down and the bike trailer out, pumped up the tires and the 3 of us went for a bike ride around the neighborhood. trevor was so excited to be a big boy and tova loved being in the trailer. I even sat out in the sun and read during nap time! matt, Jodi and the kids came over for wings from hangar 54 and we stayed outside and ate outside! so much outside time; the kids were beat and slept like rocks!

Thursday was warmer than Wednesday but less sun. our lawn got fertilized so we tried to stay off it especially because it was supposed to rain Friday to help it soak in. al took the kids on a walk in the morning to grandpa peter's house while I cleaned the house. After naptime, trevor and I went for a longer bike ride and when we got back, Al had his bike down, pumped up and the bike trailer out. so the 4 of us went on a bike ride some more. once back trevor rode his bike around our sidewalk for another half hour! he's hooked! then Al made yummy cabbage pulled pork rolls for supper and made his pasta bake for work meals.

Friday it rained all day. the kids and I watched some tv, crafted, and they took a bubbly, long daytime bath (trevor kept saying it felt like night because we usually only bathe at night.) After the bath, i painted tova's toenails for the first time and trevor wanted his painted too. we just hung out at home. After supper time I had a happy hour video meeting with some of my family (Illinois family plus mom and tyler) on the house party app. it was fun, so good to see them and chat with family! they all got to see trevor and tova too! Then after al was home and the kids were in bed, we had a zoom meeting (a video conference call) with shane and Jodi and derek and sarah. matt and Jodi joined the meeting too eventually. Al went to bed around 830 but the rest of us stayed on until almost 11pm. it was fun!

Saturday morning we woke to a little less than an inch of snow on the ground and since I was tired, we had a lazy day. we did get outside for a bit in the afternoon once most of the snow was melted. I chatted with the Illinois crew again after dinner.

sunday morning it was beautiful out! the kids and I went in the car for the first time in a long time and drove to dunkin donuts to pick up some donut holes for kade's birthday. we then drove over, dropped them and his card on their doorstep, and pulled up to their open window to say happy birthday to kade! kade loved it and had minion pencils to give to the kids! once home we played outside until lunch time. tova built blocks, trevor and I made a chalk obstacle course on the driveway, and trevor rode his bike a ton. sunday after nap, we went and played in the backyard for a bit before coming in for some relaxation time.

Monday morning Al was finally off work! we drove to Lake Wissota state park to go on a nature walk and Matt, Jodi & the kids met us there. we had lots of fun exploring the nature paths, stopped at a huge clearing near the lake for snack time and to let the little girls run, walked more paths, then drove to the scenic overlook to have lunch. we saw 2 other people there the whole time! after our picnic lunch, we walked down by the lake for a bit before heading home for nap time. tova didn't get down until 130 but took a good nap. after nap, Al and the kids walked over to grandpa peter's, and then we all went to matt & Jodi's for supper.
