2020 :: 12/52

Monday was trevor's only day of school for 3 weeks due to the coronavirus social distancing. tova and I ran a couple of (drive thru) errands and she ate a ton since she was finally feeling better. it snowed a bit. it was supposed to be trevor and my last basketball class but that was cancelled too.

Tuesday was st patricks day. after nap, the kids and I walked over to Jodi's house to play outside and we ended up staying for dinner. Al came after work to eat, hang out a bit and drive us home.

Al was off wed & Thursday so we had family time at home. we tried to get outside everyday after nap since we can't really go anyway (due to quarantine) but it's still chilly out and we still have a bit of snow. Al and I did get the front yard raked and we all walked over to grandpa peter's house to borrow a couple of leaf bags.

on Friday the kids and I drove up to mom's house for her birthday (and it may be the last time we see her for a while since the governors are putting "stay at home" orders in place.) :( mom's friends came over to say happy birthday to her since she couldn't do anything for her birthday. they brought us a light lunch. after nap we played outside and unc-o went and got us our favorite fish for supper. we headed home after supper.

Saturday mom and tyler headed up to grama's burial (only about 10 of them went) since we had to post pone grama's celebration of life/funeral. after nap the kids and I played outside and our fenced in portion of the backyard was finally melted enough for us to really play. we uncovered the big sandbox and I dug the sand toys out of the shed. the kids loved it; they played in it for a long time, so I got half the backyard raked (the other half was still snow covered.)

sunday it wasn't as nice out so we didn't get outside but we still had fun. trevor's almost done with his school work packets he got; he loves doing them!

Monday Al was off. after nap we went into the backyard and pulled everything out of the shed. got some of the kids toys out like the sand table, picnic table, basketball hoop, and I organized the rest of the stuff in the shed including some things we can get rid of/sell once we can be around people again. Al cleaned out the gutters. Trevor also rode his bike with no training wheels for the first time on the grass in the backyard. he didn't make it very long stretches but did find some balance! he's so excited but just wants to be able to go go go on it. we put the snow blower in the shed too so it will probably snow again now. :) it was a great afternoon to be outside even if we didn't have sun.

 I gave the kids ramen noodles for the first time in case that's what we're living off of soon :)

2020 :: 11/52

Al was off Monday & Tuesday. Monday night trevor and I had parent/child basketball again and we had a blast! he's getting much better at dribbling and shooting! Monday night after bedtime, I went over to Jodi's to watch our bachelor show finale.

Tuesday tova woke up with a fever (103.4) so she just hung out all day. she didn't feel well before lunch and nap, but took a good nap.

Wednesday tova still had some fevers so we didn't do much.

Thursday she didn't have a fever from 2am to 10am but then got a high fever again. she was tired and wouldn't eat lunch, so I laid her down early and called the pediatrician. they wanted to see her so we went in after nap. dr Sarumi couldn't find anything big and figured tova would probably have one more day of fevers then break out in a rash and be done. they did get a urine sample but that came back normal. tova did have one more day of fever but get the rash. she didn't have a cough or runny nose so dr was sure tova didn't have influenza or coronavirus (since that was really starting to spread and was closing down lots of events.) we picked up trevor from school and hung out at home.

Al was off Friday-Sunday and while tova slowly got feeling better, due to the coronavirus we stayed home all weekend and played outside in the afternoons (it was still a bit chilly outside.) Friday I finished my next quilting squares, ran a couple errands, and Al coached track from 330-6p. trevor earned some video game time.

Saturday swimming lessons was cancelled so we all spent the morning in trevor's room playing with his toys, trevor picked out some toys to sell, and I reorganized his shelves and toy closet.

sunday during nap time, I went to our friend's benefit for their 1 year old who has brain cancer. Jodi and jenny were working it so I helped them and held our other friend's baby. it was a good time, raised lots of money for the family, but we didn't win any of our buckets. once home, I took the kids outside while Al made supper. tova can just about climb up our rock wall to the fort & top of the slide by herself. tova finally slept through the night sunday night after 3 weeks of lots of wake ups!!

we got word over the weekend that eau Claire schools were closing Thursday through april 3 (2.5 weeks which had spring break in there) due to coronavirus. then sunday night we were told that eau Claire schools were going to only be on Monday then closed for the rest of the 3 weeks.

 Al accidentally took the car with the stroller in the back so we were lucky the snow melted so we could get into the shed to get this push bike out. although tova is just about too big for it.

Tuesday morning tova woke up with a rash on her hands and cheeks and I was pretty sure it was hand foot mouth (Carsyn & some daycare kids at Jodi's house had had it a little over a week prior.) luckily tova had her 2 year checkup scheduled for this day already. so we went to the new building again, this time to see doctor Sarumi. she confirmed tova had hand foot mouth and said her ear infections were gone. she also said we could stop the nasty antibiotic that was upsetting tova's stomach, giving her diarrhea, and giving her bad diaper rash. Sarumi said that tova's fevers were from the hand foot mouth and once the rash shows up the fevers usually stop. because the building is so new still there aren't many people who go there yet, so we got right in and got to chat with Sarumi for a long while. tova got her flu shot and had to have blood drawn; she was super brave and didn't even cry.

mom came down that afternoon to watch tova while I went to a job interview with the city of eau Claire. it's a perfect position for me in the finance department and it's part time and a limited term employment (likely lasting 3-6 months). I was pretty nervous not having done anything professional in 6 years but I think it went ok. then I came home to walk with mom and tova to get trevor. trevor was pretty excited to see nana. tova was quite whiney and cried a lot (not feeling well still?) so I gave her Tylenol. we had supper with nana, then she headed home. the kids had baths, al came home, then it was time for books and bed.

Wednesday tova was feeling way better and her rash had peaked so we went to hangar 54 with matt, Jodi and the kids for wing night for tova's birthday celebration with them. we had fun, the food was delicious, and tova got a free ice cream dessert for her birthday.

Al was off wed & thurs so we had lots of family time.

Friday morning, tova and I went to the indoor sports center with jenny, klare, and Jodi & the daycare kids. another little get together for tova's birthday. tova got tired about 11am (it ends at 1130) and said she was ready to go.

Saturday morning the kids and I drove up to the cities. the kids stayed with mom while I went up to maple grove to quilt with my aunts & cousins. my cousin maren met me at mom's and rode with me. we got back to mom's about 430.

sunday morning, trevor and I met my good friend gina and her almost 6 year old, Cal for a nature walk. it was muddy (and trevor slipped in the mud once) but it was nice! it got to be almost 60 degrees on sunday but it was windy. the boys had fun together. we headed back to mom's for lunch, nap and outside play time since it was so nice out. trevor, tova, mom, unc-o and I had an early supper at buffalo wild wings since trevor's been wanting to eat there then we headed for home.
