this was a crazy week! Sunday into Monday we got a bunch of snow so school was cancelled. then we got the "polar vortex" Tuesday through Thursday so school was cancelled due to the extreme cold temps (-30 temps, -50s with the windchill.) So we were stuck inside for 5 days, although Al worked Monday and Tuesday.
we ended up pulling a bunch of different toys upstairs to play with, did a lot of legos and games, and watched some new shows. Thursday afternoon I had a chiropractor appointment so I brought trevor with me so he could get outside. we then stopped at the library for some new books.
Friday morning we went to Jodi's house to play and we were happy for interaction with some different people. :)
Saturday morning started trevor's birthday party day. Unc-o, grandpa neil and nana came to our house. trevor got to open his presents from unc-o and grandpa neil, which were his last arctic legos, a police station lego set, and a 1980s semi truck lego set (unopened!) then we played some games, had lunch and grandpa neil & unc-o left. then we packed up and headed out for trevor's friend party at the indoor sports center. we got to play on the turf for an hour with all kinds of balls, bikes and the bounce house. the party included matt, Jodi, Camdyn, chloe, Carsyn, jenny, kyle, kali, kourtlyn, klare, Emily, joe, graham, kade, Easton, cooper and trevor's bestie in his class, jasper. then we had an hour in the party room for cupcakes, presents and hanging out.
then we came home for nap for tova and rest time for the rest of us. mom watched the kids that night so Al and I could go out for our annual adult night for Jodi and my birthdays. we went to 44 north which includes a restaurant upstairs and a bar and arcade on the main level. it included us 2, jake and Kassie, matt & Jodi, josh & kayla, jenny & kyle, and Emily & joe. dinner took a while and was good, but the games were fun! we left about 930 because I needed to feed tova and she had woken up crying.
sunday was super bowl day. in the morning, trevor got to open his presents from nana and we played. mom left after lunch and some play time. after nap and rest time, trevor had swimming lessons, then home for a quick shower, pack up and headed to matt & Jodi's for a little super bowl party. we didn't stay too long as I wanted to keep bedtimes some what normal. Al was at work so that night was exhausting but fun.
Monday was Trevor's 5th birthday and my 35th birthday! it started with a call from the school that it was cancelled again! it had gotten really warm over the weekend and then rained and froze so the roads, sidewalks and driveways were glare ice! Al got home from work at 330a but was off Monday night. we played until Al woke up then trevor got to open his presents from us.
