2018 :: 40/52 :: Tova 7 months

Al got Tova to finally sort of stick her tongue out! he sticks his tongue out while she's watching him and she'll eventually open her mouth really wide and move her tongue forward, it still doesn't come out past her lip tho, still working on those top teeth, she'll make chomping movements with her mouth sometimes when we feed her baby food it's so funny

Monday started school again and Al had off. I ran to kohls for a return and to spend some kohls cash right before I picked up trevor from school. when I picked him up, he had shorts on but I had sent him in pants. he'd peed himself at school; he's been peeing more often lately and probably was just too busy playing to stop and go to the bathroom like he's done before.

Tuesday we were supposed to take our family pictures but it was still rainy and not much for fall colors yet so we rescheduled after i'd gotten up early to shower and got Tova up early so she'd nap before pics. since we were all already ready for the day, we all went to the children's museum since trevor's been asking to got there for weeks. we didn't have a whole lot of time there because we had to get back for lunch and school, but we had fun. Tova was big enough to play with some of the toys in the toddler area! they also had the new science/tech room open and it was tech Tuesday so trevor got to play with robots and coding!! then home for lunch, nap for tova, and getting trevor on the bus. then Al went to help grandpa peter move his freezer and run to the grocery store while I fed Tova and she & I cleaned all the floors in the house before and while she took another nap.

Wednesday Al worked 8a-8p because he had to be in court, and then worked 3p-3a Thursday. so those days were pretty regular for the kids and me. Wednesday was 76 degrees and humid out and by early Thursday morning it was 39 degrees. Tova and I went for a walk with jenny and klare Thursday afternoon since it was sunny out but it was windy and a chilly and got cloudy by the time we made it back home. I didn't dress tova warm enough but she was wrapped up in her blankie.

Friday morning Al was up by 930a so we ran up to Chippewa and got our pumpkins and my mini gourds that I love to decorate with. then once home, I fed tova and ran to the chiropractor while Al put the kids down. trevor has not been falling asleep well, taking around 2 hours to fall asleep at night and he didn't nap when he has been on Friday's since school started. Friday afternoon we ran to shopko then had a movie night since we were all tired.

Saturday morning, trevor and I went to his school for the 'conscious discipline' open house. conscious discipline is the method they use for teaching at his school and I really like it. they had us go to the gym first where I got to meet trevor's friend Maddox from his class and Maddox's mom and we did a little group activity to start off, which is the same thing the kids do in their classrooms to start each day. then they had stations for the different tactics they use where the kids could make something and some of the teachers would teach us parents a bit about it. the ones I liked best were the breathing techniques for calming down, the feeling buddies so the kids can start to identify what they're feeling when they have big emotions, and the safety place/calm down area. we got to make a chart for his bedtime routine, a chore chart for him, a kindnesss tree, a wish you well plate, and a safety stick.

after the open house, trevor and I ran to the festival foods near his school where they had a bounce house, fire truck and other little games at their little pumpkin festival. it was chilly and there wasn't very many people there; trevor bounced, sat in the fire truck, played some games and then we picked out some white pumpkins and really little pumpkins. then we ran to 2 garage sales and found some little toys for trevor. once home, we had lunch, laid both kids down for nap, and Al used his leaf sweeper on the whole yard and then mowed the whole yard. I put away summer stuff and arranged our pumpkins outside for my fall décor. once the kids were awake, we went outside to join Al as he was finishing up. we played in the back yard, got some little things done, jumped in some wet leaves, went on the swings, played soccer, and then came in for supper. Al grilled steaks and made carrots from our garden and potatoes from grandpa neil's garden. while Al made that, trevor painted some pumpkins and tova was cranky (teeth? and possible tummy ache? and tired?) after supper we again had movie night because trevor was crabby lots of the day and was so tired.

sunday we went to the neighb's house for the packer game and then I headed up to the cities for the last softball games. it was playoff night, it was cold out and it was misting off and on. we were down by 5 in the second to the last inning, and ended up coming back and winning by 1. so that put us in the "championship" game against a pretty good team. we ended up ahead the whole game and won by 5 or 6 runs! I hit awesome, every time I was up, and only didn't get on twice, one of which was a very close play where the ump called me out at first. :( I also slid for the first time in years and was safe & didn't injure myself! it was a great night of ball to end fall ball season; we took 1st place for the playoff night and 2nd place in the league. Al and the kids ended up staying at matt & Jodi's until 6ish because the brewer playoff game was on. I drove back home after softball and got home shortly after 8.

Monday morning was back to routine and included lots of laundry, some dishes, and general tidying up of the house. trevor said he got a time out at school for running around when he wasn't supposed to but no notes from the teacher. Al worked 6p-6a so we got to see him for a bit. the kids and I went to matt & Jodi's for family dinner night and had fun but didn't stay too long. then home to get the kids in bed.

2018 :: 39/52

Tova: got her first cold and her first tooth (we didn't get much sleep), I can also see the whites of both her top teeth, on all 4s she moves both legs & her left hand up & down so she's so close to crawling, moves every which way but forward (in circle, backwards, some sideways)

early this week we were dealing with the cold that we all ended up getting (Trevor first in door county, then Al who called in sick 1 day, then tova then me a little bit.) trevor had school and did fine there, just a little cough from the stuffy nose.

Wednesday grama DD and grandpa Rick came to our house and stayed the night before they drive back to Arizona for the winter. Grama DD made bluegills and Al grilled ribs for supper. And we just hung out with them that night. Thursday morning after breakfast there was some outside time and some monopoly junior playing before trevor got on the bus.

Thursday after I got trevor from school, I fed tova, we all said goodbye to grama & grandpa, and I left for the cities to go to the twins game with my girl friends. we did this game for the love your melon twins hats we got with our tickets. we all met at mom's at 6 and got stuck in traffic in Minneapolis so we were a little late getting in to the game that started at 710. once we found our seats, I had a surprise for manda, meg and Kunde: our softball ladies Kim, Gaylene, Nancy and Christy were there too and had seats 3 rows down from us! there was no one in the seats directly in front of them so we sat right in front of them! it was a good game, a good time, a gorgeous night and full of laughs! it was much needed. we left just after 10p in the 7th inning since it was late and I had to drive back to eau Claire still. the drive back wasn't too bad and the kids did well for Al although tova didn't take a bottle but Al had fed her lots of baby food (veggie and cereal) so she slept until I got home and fed her.

Al worked Friday-sunday 5p-5a. Friday morning the kids and I ran the mortgage check over and then stopped at Jodi's to chat & play for a bit before coming home for lunch and naps (trevor napped after a busy week of school.) after nap, Tova chomped on my thumb and I felt something! a bottom tooth, she'd gotten her first tooth while having her first cold. then when I tried to see the tooth, I noticed I could see white spots of her top to teeth too! Friday night I went to bed after I got the kids to bed to try and catch up on sleep. Tova only woke up once that night which I was so thankful for!

Saturday morning we played until unc-o and grandpa neil came down for a couple hours. they got here about 11 and left just after 2p. we played outside a bit but it was chilly so not long. trevor did the new legos unc-o brought for him and we had a laughing fit that started with trevor not being able to stop laughing which made gpa neil, unc-o and I laugh! :)

Sunday was spent lego-ing, we played at one of the new playgrounds near our house after the rain spoiled our plans of going to the apple orchard with the neighbs, watching the packer game and relaxing (Al worked 6p-6a).
