2018 :: 19/52

At 10 weeks old, Tova still takes 4-5 naps a day (mostly because she doesn't sleep longer than 45 minutes in her crib.) but this week she has only been waking up once at night, at 4 or 5!!! she almost always poops while she's nursing which means she pulls off and goes back on a lot, it's not the easiest for either of us, so i hope she grows out of that soon. she eats 7 or 8 times a day which includes the dream feed i do just before i go to bed. she is super smiley!! and while she has great cheeks and is a big baby, she's not all that chubby. she gets red and a type of chafing in her neck creases because she's drooling/bubbling a lot now and spitting up more. she gets the hiccups a lot and she loves to move her arms, kick her legs, and hold on to things like blankets or those link things. she's pretty easy going until she gets tired but is fine if we walk her around. she loves to look at the little black & white books trevor loved too and to look at anything colorful like the blanket i use that mom made me. and she absolutely loves to look at faces and smile at them.

Monday trevor had a stomach issue or bug. he was up lots sunday night with a tummy ache, threw up once Monday morning and once at night right after Al left for work (and while i was feeding Tova) so we didn't do much other than watch tv. he took a 3 hour nap, too.

Tuesday we didn't do a whole lot either; it was cooler out this week and rained a bunch so we were ok with it. just tried to build up trevor's strength and still go easy on his tummy.

Al was off Wednesday and Thursday although he had training Thursday night from 6-10pm. Wednesday morning the kids and i walked over to Jodi's house to play in the morning after tova's first nap and both kids did great! Tova was awake watching the kids for a while and then took a decent nap in the stroller still at Jodi's and on the walk home. trevor played pretty well and then got in the stroller to leave the first time i asked him. then home for lunch and nap. during nap i ran to target and walgreens to grab some things and just after i arrived home, grama DD and grandpa Rick came to our house. Trevor took a short nap. we just hung around the house since it was pretty rainy.

Thursday morning we were able to play outside for a bit. at lunch time grama DD and grandpa Rick headed to their "camp" up in Rice Lake, just an hour from us, to get the trailer all situated and get unpacked. hopefully we get to see them more now for the month they're here until they head back up to Alaska. during naptime, i went garage saling with Jodi but it was kind of a bust, there were hardly any garage sales and we only bought stuff mainly at the first garage sale we went to. then home to get some more stuff done and play with the kids until Al had to go to training. then supper, a movie and early bed times for both kids.

Friday afternoon, mom came down so i could sew and get some more prep for the garage sale done.

Saturday morning, mom, the kids, and i walked to the church down the street for their rummage sale and then to another garage sale. trevor got a foosball table at the rummage sale for $5! and he played it almost all day and the next days. then we came back and played outside while i cleaned the garage and got it all ready for the garage sale. then we played out back some. during naptime, i ran to a neighborhood garage sale where matt & Jodi were, but i didn't find much. Saturday i got most of my sewing done!

sunday morning mom headed up to her house and shortly after so did we, for softball. it was mother's day and maren, nick, tula, etta and uncle jimmy came over to mom's house for brunch. it was fun! i had softball at 4 & 5 and mom and the kids came. one of our new players's fiancé held tova most of the time and my dad was there for a bit to help with trevor.

Monday morning the kids and i went to the Minnesota zoo for tova's first time and maren and her girls met us there after a while. then we went to lunch with them, mom met us for lunch too, and then we drove home. it was Al's day off but he slept until 5 pm (he worked a lot of extra hours over the weekend and wasn't feeling great so obviously needed the sleep but we lost a whole day off with him...)

 he fits into a 0-3 month sweat shirt :)

2018 :: 18/52 :: Tova 2 months old

Monday morning, jenny, kourtlyn and baby klare drove to our house then we went for a long walk with the babies in the strollers and trevor and Kourt on their bikes. we went over 3 miles (a bit long for the little bikers, although trevor would've gone more but his butt hurt from the seat :]) then we dropped off the bikes at our house and all walked over to Jodi's house to play for a bit before walking back home. it was hot & humid out but so nice! Monday night Al had to do training again on his day off and i was not happy about it; i had to do bedtime by myself again on his 1 of 2 days off.

Tuesday morning Tova had her 2 month checkup and she's 13 lbs 2oz (90%), 23 inches (75%) and her head size is in the 75% too. she gained 2 lbs and 2 inches (at trevor's 2 month he'd gained more in inches than weight). she doing great and the dr sarumi was surprised that she only nurses for 7-10 minutes but wasn't concerned because she's gaining well. she was also surprised that tova poops/blows out twice a day (i guess breastfed babies usually only poop every couple days). so Tova's a good eater and has good digestion. :) at the end of the appointment sarumi informed me that she and the other pediatricians are leaving the end of june because they have safety concerns at the new hospital. :(

that afternoon, i had a midwife appointment to get my IUD put in so i asked the midwife about the peds leaving. she basically said it's a misunderstanding and the peds are just kind of being stubborn instead of stating their concerns and trying to fix it. the midwives are all staying and have no concerns (she said what the peds are concerned about has been resolved.) so we don't know what to think or if we should switch clinics. hopefully things will be resolved and our pediatrician will stay but we'll see. it rained on Tuesday so we didn't do much outside (Al and trevor were outside while tova and i were at the dr.) Trevor's back to not napping this week.

Wednesday morning, jenny, kourt, and klare drove over again and we went on another 3+ mile walk but didn't take the bikes this time. we stopped at a park to play towards the end and trevor and kourt had fun. tova did great until we weren't moving at the park. it was humid but nice out. then home for lunch and naps (Trevor didn't sleep); during naps i ran to joann fabrics and the grocery store quick. then Al got ready for work and was off.

Thursday morning we went to Irvine park for the first time this year with Jodi & the daycare kids, jenny, kourt & Klare. the kids played on the big park, we went and saw the animals, and then they played on the little park before we left for lunch. trevor and tova were both exhausted at nap time and were out right away. once Al was up, Jodi and i ran to some neighborhood garage sales. then kids were up, Al got ready for work, and at 5 we the kids and i walked down to sam Davey to watch Camdyn's baseball practice and play at the park with our friends. Trevor had lots of friends to play with: chloe, cole (leah's other son Elliot is on cam's team), and we saw his buddy Easton that he got along great with from soccer in the fall (they live in the neighborhood so maybe we'll see them around more.) Tova didn't get much sleep other that her 2 hour afternoon nap, so she was a little cranky but was down & out at 7.

Friday morning grandpa peter came and the kids and i walked over to Jodi's to play for a bit. when we got home, Al was up so we did lunch and naps with him. then Jodi and i went out garage saling again while gpa peter and Al prepped the garden including getting some of our compost dirt in it. we put out trevor's plastic pool and filled it with really cold hose water; trevor still played in it of course.

Saturday morning Al and i worked hard downstairs while gpa peter was on trevor (and a little bit of tova) duty. we go the bar fridge out and at the curb, got the stand up freezer moved from the workshop to the where the fridge was, and got the kegerator out. i put the fridge and kegerator on facebook and within half an hour had a lady come to pick up both. she's opening a zoo in fall creek and needs the fridge for the produce for the animals! that was a good job done! gpa peter left at nap time and after nap (trevor slept right away and for 2 hours) we went outside and trevor swam in his pool which by then had warm water in it due to it being in the 70s/80 out. at about 5 we went to matt and Jodi's for supper for cinco de mayo and Kassie, jake, kade and Kinsley came too. it was a good time and tova actually went down easily for a little nap while there.

sunday morning, Al and i got the bed moved out of tova's room and downstairs to the bar room. then after lunch we all went up to mom's house for softball at 4 & 5. once at mom's, we all walked down to see shawn and maria. then i fed tova, got dressed and left for softball. Tova sept the whole time for Al (she hadn't slept much that morning) and mom got back from state bowling about 530. double headers are tough on this out of shape, old body :) but we had fun. we lost the first game by 2 and won the second by 12 (playing the same team). i didn't strike out and played well in the field but didn't hit great. then back to mom's to feed tova and we packed up and drove home.
