2018 :: 16/52

Monday was Al's birthday. we didn't do much but did run to the grocery store as a family and he chose ordered pizza for his meal. Tuesday was decently nice out so we went for a family walk in which we had to try to avoid the non-shoveled sidewalks and ramps because we still had a bunch of snow. Tuesday night we went out to dinner for the first time since having Tova with matt, Jodi, cam and chloe. we went to wagner's where Jodi plays volleyball so we sat out in the dome where the kids could run around and where tova crying wouldn't bother anyone. but she only cried on the drive there and the drive home, and slept almost the whole time we were there so that's good.

Wednesday morning mom came down and worked from our house so that in the afternoon i could bring all the boy clothes i'd hung and priced to the consignment sale. I've been to this sale a bunch of times to buy but haven't consigned yet. so i hauled in all 7 totes, then hauled them to the table to get checked, then hauled each one to the sale racks and placed them all (all the carts were being used). it didn't take too long tho and hopefully all or most of our stuff sells and we make a bunch! mom, trevor, tova and i got a walk in in the morning even though it was a bit chilly and windy still. then mom left after supper (Al worked 1p-1a wed and 11a-11p thurs). Tova only woke up once both Tuesday night and Wednesday night to eat! although she was really gassy and kind of grumpy (for her) on Wednesday.

Thursday morning trevor woke up with a swollen eye lid. it went down and was just swollen a little bit for a couple of days. after nap, we went for a walk and eventually met up with jenny and her 3 girls to walk with them. then we walked to their house so i could nurse tova and jenny could nurse klare. after a little play time, jenny drove us home in her van (all 7 of us and our stroller got into her van :]). it was finally nice out!!

Friday morning grandpa peter came and stayed until Saturday. i went shopping at the consignment sale and got most of the things i was looking for: dresses, rompers, a swim suit, and robeez shoes for tova, and shorts, summer play shoes, and pjs for trevor. plus a couple new books and hot wheels tracks for trevor, too. we went for a walk and played outside since it was finally spring-like.

it was a gorgeous weekend so most of Saturday and sunday were spent outside. mom came down Saturday morning and stayed until sunday afternoon. we went on a walk which included stopping to get some hot dog buns so we could have brats on the grill! we got lots of outside stuff done like cleaning the garage, getting toys & stuff out of the shed, and getting the patio furniture out of the porch.

sunday morning, mom and i ran back to the consignment sale for the half off day and i got tova a couple pairs of shoes, found some brand new clothes for trevor, and got some more books. then we came home and played outside all morning and had lunch on the patio. tova was having a tummy issue day and didn't sleep much. mom left after lunch, tova finally slept, and trevor took a 2 hour nap! then we went outside again for a little bit, picked up toys, and then went over to matt & Jodi's house for supper. matt made wings on his new grill and they were awesome! trevor even ate a bunch! the kids played outside a bunch, tova was good, then home for bed. Tova took almost an hour to fall asleep but she slept good at night!

2018 :: 15/52

Tova: this week I/we worked hard to get tova on somewhat of a schedule or to know her schedule and to try to fall asleep on her own. we had some successful fall asleep on her own naps and bed times, and I felt so much more normal/less stressed after a couple days of writing out her schedule and realizing when and how long she sleeps for. she tends to only poop while she's awake now so that's nice. we always get smiles from her now and she's very move-y; loves to stretch and kick and reach her arms out. she had her first bottle this week of breast milk given to her by Al and Trevor and she did great.


Monday and Tuesday Al worked, so the kids and I just stayed home since it was still cold out. I stuck to getting tova on a schedule/cycles and trying to sleep train her (fall asleep on her own). it started working and making me feel more normal and getting less crying from tova. due to this, trevor and I got more time together to craft and color and play, and I got some things done around the house which saves some sanity too. Tuesday morning, trevor had a bath/pool party so we could pretend it wasn't still winter.

Wednesday it was finally nice out! 50 degrees!! in the morning, once I got us all fed, dressed and tova down for nap, trevor and I ran some errands once Al was up. then Al gave tova her first bottle of breast milk and she did great with it, and trevor said "can I help? i'm the big brother." trevor and I went outside to play in the backyard in the snow. it was so nice out and was fun to make a snowman in. then after lunch and trevor laid down for a bit and I fed tova & she was awake for a bit, the 3 of us went for a walk. we walked to Jodi's house, then with them to get cam from school, back to their house so the kids could play outside for a bit, then back home. Tova only slept for about half of that, but she was content the other time as long as the flap was open so she could see (yay, she loves to be outside too.) we played outside for bit once home then went in for supper and an early bedtime.

Thursday I had my follow up midwife appointment and it was really a silly appointment. we didn't do much just asked questions. then I came home, Trevor and Al played outside until lunch, and I fed Tova, played with her and put her down. during nap (both kids napped) I had a chiropractor appt that was much needed! then after Trevor got up and I fed tova, we went on a family walk. we walked for a while, then went to the park. Al and Trevor played at the park while I walked tova some more and I got bit by a dog while walking by it's house. it bit me on the back of my knee but didn't break skin (didn't bleed at least.) then we had supper, played a bunch then finished a movie before bed.

Al had to work Friday-Sunday and we got a big rain and snow storm which means I had no help (read: mom) for the weekend. Friday was all rain until after it got dark and then it snowed almost all day Saturday and sunday; we got about 10 inches of snow. on april 14 & 15th!! it was a pretty decent weekend although we were feeling the cabin fever by sunday and needed to run around. it was also super windy so we couldn't even go outside and shovel. cam and chloe came over Saturday morning while Matt worked and Jodi had volleyball. Saturday night Tova only woke up once to eat! i got 6 hours of sleep! Al was able to drive his squad home all weekend so he could have 4 wheel drive.
