2015 :: 40/52

Tuesday after nap, all 3 of us went to the big park at carson park. trevor did more of the obstacles than he previously has; he went over the wobbly bridges, through the tunnels, and down the big slides. we also picked acorns and looked for squirrels.

Wednesday was al's last weekend day this week, so we decided to go to beaver creek reserve and nature center in fall creek (near eau Claire) in the morning. it was a great place! we had a coupon for buy one get one and Trevor was free, so it only cost us $3. inside they had lots of taxidermied animals, some live reptiles, antlers, and other local animal based exhibits. outside they have tons of hiking trails. they also have 3 little play areas for kids, so we stopped by those first. then we put Trevor in the carrier on my back and walked one of the shorter trails. it was beautiful! gorgeous weather and scenery! we'll definitely be going back there!

Thursday was rainy, so we stayed inside and got some inside things that I've been meaning to do, done. then Friday morning once Al woke up, we went to Irvine park in Chippewa since Al hadn't been there. they are re-doing the barn so there weren't many animals there, but we did see the black bears and tigers moving around. we also saw the buffalo, then let Trevor play on the park. we walked around by the river a bit and Trevor loved watching the machines that were digging for the new building. the excavator and the dump trucks were the favs. and he liked the buses that came to drop some kids off.

Saturday morning Trevor and I went to the university's homecoming parade with the neighb's while Al slept (he had to work until 3 am). it was a great parade and Trevor got his first parade candy. he did great and loved picking up the candy from street. :) we just had to back up a bit when the college band went by because it was a bit loud for him. he loved all the cars, trucks and fire engines. and was an expert candy spotter, although he wasn't very quick to pick it up (not as quick as the bigger kids). we came home for lunch, nap, an early supper and then went to the uwec volleyball game (our neighbor/friend Jodi coaches) with matt, cam and chloe. jenny, kyle, kali & kourtlyn came halfway through too. they ended up losing 1-3 but it was fun to watch and they're so much better than I was when I played in high school. :) the kids ran around behind the bleachers and played with volleyballs for the first 1.5 games, then we went up into the bleachers and sat for the rest. trevor did great, he got a little antsy towards the end, but he had snack, a lollipop and played with the kids.

sunday it was 80 degrees outside! we played outside lots! we went grocery shopping in the morning with Al, and then planted tulips and played outside except for supper until it got dark.

Monday got chilly again, and windy so we were only outside a little bit.

2015 :: 39/52 :: Trevor 20 months

trevor: said his first 2 sound word that wasn't the same sound repeated: bus (but he only said it for 2 days then wouldn't say it again), loves riding his bikes can steer them by picking up & moving the front end, a picky eater but will try most things we put on his tray, loves to use forks and spoons, portions of raw carrots, apples & cucumbers will go in, get chewed and then come back out on to his tray (not sure why), loves to be up on his stool "helping" when we're in the kitchen, went down big slides by himself at the park, still really loves books; has his favorite ones that we read many times a day, likes to be in forts with dada and he brings all his stuffies in with him, in size 4 diapers now more due to leaks than size, 18 month shirts are too short & some 18 month pants are too short, has big feet! size 6 almost size 7, says "noooooo" lots now, says uh huh & un uh, shoos bugs away with his hand like momma, will do something he knows he's not supposed to then say "na no" for example throwing his milk cup onto the ground,

the weather was amazing this week! sunny and low 60s for the highs; we played outside lots this week!

mom came down on Friday, and after nap we went to the apple orchard (Al had to work) and had a great time again. we got some more apples and some apple cider; yum! we played on all the things and saw all the animals!

Saturday morning, mom, T and I ran a bunch of shopping errands. we hit a church rummage sale (my fav, usually) and it did not disappoint! the prices were so cheap; we got medal tongs, measuring bowls/cups, a fire truck that makes noise, a bigger play kitchen with tons of dishes/food/appliances for $3, mom got a bird house thing. it was great! we also hit the joann fabrics sale and shopko. Al had testing at 1 am in the cities and then worked overnight (845p-7a) and worked overnight sunday too.

mom headed home Saturday night, and Trevor and I drove up sunday morning for the last night of softball. it was a little chilly sunday, 50s, but softball was great! Trevor and mom came to the first game; we won both. it was a fun night and we hung out in the parking lot for an hour afterwards for a beer.

Monday we headed home to eau Claire. Al slept most of the day on Monday since he'd worked overnight, so Trevor and I played outside with the neighb's and had lunch.

here's a video (hopefully it works). Trevor loves riding bikes these days, inside or outside. he's learned to steer but mostly by means of picking up the front end a bit and moving it in the direction he wants to go. :)

 I raked up the tiny amount of leaves and cam and trevor played in them :)

the mornings were so chilly and I didn't want to turn on the heat yet, so T had a sweat shirt and slippers on over his pj's.
 I found his giraffe costume that we had at our house and he loved it! he didn't want to take it off, and wanted to put it on in the mornings. plus it kept him warm. :)
 vest weather!
