2015 :: 36/52

we played outside lots this week since the weather is finally starting to cool down.

Friday, Trevor and I went up to mom's house and then after lunch we all headed up to park rapids to my uncle jimmy's cabin. we took a little detour on the way to avoid some major delays due to construction. we stopped in motley to play at a playground and let Trevor run around for a while. it was a great playground for him and there was a little free library station there so he got a new book. :) then we stopped for something to drink. and we then ate at the royal bar (per usual) in park rapids. it took us 6 hours to get to park rapids when it's really like a 3.5-4 hour drive... Trevor slept for almost 1.5 hours.

we got to the cabin before jimmy and maren and tula so we turned on the water, unpacked, set up Trevor's pack n play, and played outside for a bit. we saw deer, turkeys and a huge woodpecker at the cabin. :) I went to bed a little after 10 and jimmy, maren & tula arrived shortly after that.

Saturday morning we got up, I made breakfast, we showered and got ready, and then headed over to the new resort we're considering moving to for our full family week at the lake. we toured the lodge, the grounds, and eventually saw inside every cabin. it has an awesome sandy beach with a playground on it and would be great for the littles!

we got back, Trevor napped, and mom & uncle jimmy made a tasty lunch. we all took a little nap at some point, hung out on the deck in the sunshine (and wind), and we took off back to the cities about 5ish.

we got back to mom's around 9 and Trevor fell asleep the fastest he ever has when being put down awake. :)

sunday morning Manda came to pick me up for our annual girls canoe trip down the st Croix river. we met Meg and Shannon at O'Brien and headed up to Osceola. it was a beautiful day on the river! the first half was perfect and we stopped at an island to eat, pee, and chat on a small sandy beach. the second half was very windy, a head wind! it was hard work and we couldn't even take a sip of beer or grab a bite to eat because if we stopped the wind would push us backwards. meg's parents brought the truck and trailer back down to O'Brien for us so we didn't have to go back and get it. it was a great day on the river.

I got back to mom's about 230 and had to play softball at 4 & 5 (manda, too). we won both games and it was beautiful out but still a little warm for me. sunday night I was exhausted!! mom agreed to put Trevor to bed, so I went to bed at 730. while at the cabin, my allergies flared up and I think I got a little bit of a cold with them too, so that added to my exhaustion. I slept until about 630am!

Monday morning T and I went back to ec to see Al as it was his last day off.

 he learned a new word at the cabin: deer

 I tried the back of our canoe this year but I am definitely not a skilled canoe-ist and had no idea how to steer. luckily, Manda does know how and we switched spots shortly after this. :)

2015 :: 35/52 :: Trevor 19 months

 in this pic, he's pointing at his puppy stuffed animal and making his bow wow sound :)
trevor: said "more please" which sounds like "mo sssssss" together without me having to say each word first (his first 2 words put together), loves bubbles in the tub and says "ba-bassss", calls all the guys in his books bob/"ba" from his bob the builder books, was wanting dada lots this week & every morning when Al would get up Trevor would go over and point to the floor for Al to sit down with him and play legos, says "na no" for 'no no' when he knows we say no to or for something, had his first sickness fever for 1.5 days, say "hi hi" when my phone rings, still really loves books we read the same ones many times each day (he loves his trucks/machine books the best esp bob),

it was hot and humid again this week. Trevor got a fever starting on Wednesday afternoon; he was drooling a lot and chewing on things, so I thought it was his teeth, per usual. even though he has all his teeth through, they're not all completely in. he had a bad night's sleep that night and just laid around all day Thursday and the fever continued throughout. by Thursday afternoon, his fever was 103 after being 102 all night, and I could tell he really didn't feel well. I deduced that it was likely a bug or sickness and not teeth, so I called the nurses line. they said to bring him in within the next 24 hours if the fevers continued, so we made an appointment for Friday at 1120. he sat or laid with me all Thursday afternoon (didn't nap well either) and night which is very unlike him. he barely ate, but drank lots of water and pedialite and some milk. we were both very tired so we both went to bed at 730 after I gave him some motrin. he had a horrible night, he woke up crying every half hour to an hour and he was on fire. I brought him into bed with me about 11 because I was so tired, too. he slept good in there so I had Al put him in his crib once Al was home from work. Trevor finally slept from about 1 to 4ish and then slept from 6 to just before 8, so we got a bit of sleep. I took his temp when we got up and it was 100.3. we sat on the couch for a bit in the morning then I put him down to make breakfast and he was up and playing and not whining! he ate a good breakfast and after he wasn't warm anymore and was running around like normal. we ended up cancelling our appointment.

Saturday morning we drove to mom's, put our stuff into her car and headed out to our family friend, Paul's cabin an hour and 15 minutes away. we had fun at Paul's cabin with Paul, Grubby, Vicki, and Joel. we went out on the pontoon (it was really hot and humid but there was a breeze) and stopped at a sandy beach to play/swim, Trevor loved it. then Trevor and dada took a nap at the cabin while me and mom were out on the boat still with everyone else. when we came back in about 4 pm we cleaned off, ate a bit, and played some bags (mom and I beat Joel and Paul!). then before we knew it, it was 7 pm so we packed up and headed back to mom's.

Sunday was rainy and trevor was tired so we hung out around mom's house. while trevor napped, mom and I took 2 of our old carseats (we got hand me downs) to babies r us for their carseat trade in. they recycled our old carseats and we got a 25% off coupon for a new carseat. we don't currently need a new carseat but I think we'll use it to buy the next car seat we will need (it'll be a while til we need a different one but the coupons are only good in September).

Monday morning we got up, ate, and headed to the Minnesota state fair. we weren't sure if we were gonna go this year as we like to go during the week when it's not as busy but Al didn't have any of those days off. but after seeing pictures of other people's fair shenanigans and seeing the weather was supposed to be cooler on Monday, we decided to go. mom came with too! it was a gorgeous morning, and busier than I like it, but it was good! we didn't eat as much as we thought we would but the lines weren't long at all! and we got to try out some new-to-us exhibits since Trevor is old enough to walk now! then Monday after nap and a light dinner we headed back to eau Claire.
