trevor :: 37th week

10/21/14

trevor: first pumpkin, slept all night after waking every 4 hours or less for over a month, played in leaves

-------------------

Wednesday we ran some errands and made a pit stop to take some pictures because the weather and fall colors were beautiful!! Thursday we went to get our pumpkins and then took some pictures again. we had gorgeous weather this whole week and weekend!

Friday we went up to the cities for the weekend. Friday afternoon we went to ikea and raked leaves in mom's backyard. Saturday we played outside lots in the leaves and tried out trevor's ride on/push toy for the first time and he loved sitting on it. sunday we went to the new cabela's in woodbury, watched the Vikings game and played outside some more. we played a lot of cards while trevor slept; it was a great weekend. we're not ready for al to go back to work on Wednesday.

Friday night trevor slept horribly, he was up a lot and for an hour at a time here and there. Saturday night he was up twice and went back to sleep right after eating; it was glorious. then sunday night he slept all night!!!!! fell asleep about 845 and slept until about 615a! it was weird and awesome!

Monday morning we drove back home. I brought some of the toys that we were storing at mom's for trevor home with us to see if he was ready for any of them. including the ride/push car, a bigger piano (that I thought was a xylophone), some wooden blocks and his mega blocks. when we got home, al and trevor played with the mega blocks for a long time! we both love legos so hopefully trevor will too.

at mom's we had to take out the bassinet net thing in the pack n play because trevor was grabbing on to the top of the pack n play, and while al was reading a big book to him he as pulling himself to standing. we may have to lower his crib soon too but so far he's just grabbed the top of the bumper. we mounted the video monitor finally so that we can see the whole crib and so he doesn't grab it. he's getting so big! almost exclusively in 9 month clothes now.

trevor bites me now while he's eating. I think he's always done it when he's getting close to done/bored but I didn't realize it much when it was just gums. those little teeth are sharp, especially that bottom one! I've started unlatching him with my finger when he does it along with telling him no biting, so we'll see if that helps.
he loves to roll now, even tho he's known how to for a while.
he rolled off his blanket :)

trevor :: 36th week

10/14/14
 hilarious out-takes;
his face cracks me up!!

trevor: got his first 3 teeth in 4 days (the top 2 and 1 bottom), tried mum mum snacks & banana in his mesh teether and ate them both well, tried pumpkin was not a fan, loved squash soup

-----------------

Tuesday night when al came home from work he could barely walk on his previously injured & bothering him foot. he had to call in sick to work on Wednesday, went to the doctor on Thursday and has to be off work for at least 2 weeks. he has an air cast/walking boot and was walking better by Saturday. so we mostly stayed home until Saturday when we went to Wausau. we hadn't been there in a while. we got to see wanda, jesse, wendy, barb, grandpa peter and auntie althea. it was a beautiful day for a drive especially with the fall colors. trevor did great; smiled for everyone, laughed, let them all hold him.

sunday was football day; we watched the first half of the packer game at the neighb's house and then trevor took a good nap since he didn't that morning. Monday and Tuesday we just did stuff around the house, played, and attempted to stay awake since trevor is still up every 4 hours at night and has started rolling in his crib. starting on sunday, trevor, who normally sleeps on his tummy, started rolling onto his back before falling asleep and then getting mad he was on his back. he would then cry and it would take a good hour to get him to sleep for every nap and bedtime. it felt like the longest week ever for both al and I as it was pretty stressful. by Tuesday we decided it was just better for us at this point to nurse him to sleep if possible or otherwise walk him to sleep, and hope he grows out of this quickly. he also does this at night too and it up for an hour or two at his early morning feeding again. hoping it's a quick phase, or growth spurt, or developmental overload, or more teething.... I have a feeling this will come again (or stay around) when he learns to get himself into the sitting position.

we need to consider lowering his crib soon. he's getting so big!

trevor got his first top tooth on the 6th, his first bottom tooth on the 8th, and his 2nd top tooth on 10th. by Saturday the 11th, the whole base of the top two teeth were in so he started sleeping better and was less fussy during the day. he also wore an amber teething necklace (borrowed from luke) for those last 2 days so it could have been that as well.

trevor poops usually twice a day now, sometimes more, and you can definitely smell when he does. but they're pretty easy to clean up. he's also been peeing out of his nighttime diaper lately but i'm hoping that'll get better once/if he sleeps better/through the night. I have to change him at his 3 or 4 am wakeup/feed, which he does not like. he cries so we try to make it quick.

he's pretty much too long for his 6 month clothes now especially pants or one piece outfits, but I still occasionally put him in them. I've also started trying to create a type of "lovey," as they call it, in his blanket. I give it to him when he's sleepy, as I do his sleep routine and while I feed him at night. he's gotten really good at pinching especially at my chest while he's eating, it hurts. he also likes to pull hair which he's good at as well since he has such a good grip.

he's down to 2 naps a day usually totally about 3-3.5 hours; bedtime is between 730-830; he usually is up twice a night and gets up between 630 & 730. he eats a big supper every night (about 4 tablespoons of oatmeal cereal and at least one veggie (2-3 oz) & one fruit (1-2 oz)), occasionally eats lunch (cereal and a fruit and/or veggie), and still nurses just as much. he also drinks a tiny bit of water out of a sippy cup at dinner, which he loves to do. he's still not quite figured out feeding himself or eating chunks, but will chew on/eat mum mum crisp things (cuz they're bigger, easier to hold on to) and a banana chunk in his mesh teether.

trevor :: 35th week / 8 months

10/7/14
I love his little knee high socks :)
10/4/14

trevor: got first tooth (top, followed by the bottom on the same side the next day), first babysitter that wasn't grama or daddy, first sleepover at shane & jodi's, apple orchard

--------------------------

al had thurs-sat off this week, so Thursday afternoon we all headed up to the cities to shane & jodi's house to watch the Viking-packer game (which turned out to not be a game at all, they smoked us). it was so great to see them again, especially luke who has grown a lot since last time we saw him. he's so stinkin' cute and won't be long before he catches trevor in the weight department :) we stayed over night there and it went well, better than I expected.
finally some fellow Vikings fans!

Thursday afternoon I stopped by the woodbury jbf (consignment sale) to see what it was like on the first day. it wasn't as great as i'd hoped, especially in the clothes section but I found some one piece winter outfits for trevor, a 12 month snow suit, some plates and straw cups i'd been looking for, and a couple of books.

Friday we headed back to mom's house and hung out. trevor's top gum was very bruised and we could see a line of white of his tooth. but he was a champ, a tiny bit fussy here and there but really still a very happy boy for teething. I made him some more sweet potatoes, pears, and nectarines. on Monday I also made him apples and chicken. i'm hoping to start feeding him more and lunch in addition to dinner since he's waking every 4 hours at night still. even though I've been feeding him dinner every night for a while now, he still nurses just as much. hungry boy, hopefully it's just a growth spurt and he'll start sleeping more soon!
you can kind of see the bruise and little white spot here

Saturday was a jam packed day! trevor turned 8 months!! trevor, mom and I drove up to kayli's house at 9 am to get ready for maren's baby shower at 11. the shower was great, nice and low key and we made some cute onsies for baby schletz! we didn't leave the shower til 3 and trevor had only taken 2 half hour naps. we got back to mom's, relaxed a bit, and then al and I headed over to manda's house for their 10-4 party (their anniversary). a tired grama and trevor stayed home. we ate, played games, had a couple beers, and conversed with great people until about 11 when we headed back to mom's house.

sunday, luckily, I got to take a 3 hour nap because I was tired! esp after trevor was up twice and up for the day before 7. al had to head back to eau claire when he woke up because he had to work. mom, T and I went to aamodt's apple orchard in the late afternoon. it was good, we got apples, apple cider, and walked around a bit watching the kids play. it was a bit chilly so trevor got to try out one of his new outdoor outfits. it's a 9 month bear one and he's just about too long for it. :) but it's super cute!

 I love carrying him!

Monday morning we woke up to his tooth popped thru! the second top one looked like it's right there too. we went to the chiropractor and his hips were pretty stuck again. hoping once he starts crawling, it'll help loosen those up. he screamed again the loudest I've heard when she did his neck but he took a little snooze in the car on the way home so it must have relaxed him since he had just woken up from a nap. I had my last games of softball that night and trevor went over to mom's neighbor's house, maria, shawn, anika, and kaitlin; his first time with a sitter other than mom or al. they said he did great and he's such a happy baby. we lost at softball due to 4 male ringer's the team brought in and they were not very fun games to play, but still great to get out. i'm sad that softball is over!

Tuesday we headed home and I was super tired. I have a hard time falling asleep after softball and my body was hurting, so add in that trevor was up at 1 am, 450am, 530am, and 7 am, and you get a tired crabby momma. later I felt in trevor's mouth and could feel the bottom tooth on the same side as the top one that came thru!!

trevor comparisons

here's a couple of comparisons of little man,
since I haven't done any in a while.
I love a good comparison.

first: by month
(i'll be able to add 8 months soon, yikes!)

and then 10, 20, & 30 weeks.
I love how his legs grew from 20 to 30
and we can see it in the pictures.
guess we need a new skull onesie for 40 weeks :)

I was hoping with the blocks it'd be a good comparison,
but I still have some pictures that are closer
and some farther away.
I suppose some were trying to get his outstretched arms in,
and because he's gotten bigger and taller.
oh well, at least I can compare the size of blocks
for a bit of a scale.
