Tova: 18 month stats: she's 26 pounds 85 percentile (Trevor was 23# 8oz 40%), 34 inches long 97% (Trevor was 80%), 70 percentile for head size (Trevor was 95%) In reading the paragraph about what trevor could do at 18 months (from the blog) they are almost identical in what they do and say. :)
I've forgotten to do these comparisons for a while
Monday started Trevor's first full week of kindergarten. Al worked Mon, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and sunday. we loved walking trevor to and from school on Monday and Tuesday; there are lots of people both at drop off and pick up that we know! Trevor loves school! he's met new friends, he's a great helper, and we already love his teacher.
Monday morning after school drop off, tova and I went to jenny's house in Chippewa. it was kinda weird being just jenny, klare, tova and me, but it was fun! the little girls played well together, jenny cut & colored my hair, then we went out front and picked delicious apples right off their trees. we got a whole plastic bag full and tova ate one the whole way home. she's also been obsessed with apples since; she asks for an apple many times a day and carries one around with her almost all the time.
Tuesday was hot out so after school we pulled out the water table and played in it. Tuesday morning tova had her 18 month appt. They tested her for diabetes by pricking her finger (blood sugar there was fine) and then her urine was a little abnormal from a UTI so she was put on antibiotics.
it rained Wednesday so I had to drive trevor and drop him off at the side door where it was super busy with cars dropping off kids. I basically had to just tell him to follow the other kids in and then ask a teacher where his classroom is. I didn't like it but couldn't go in with him and leave tova in the car. after school, Trevor said it was fine he didn't even have to ask for help, just found his classroom right away. Phew! we were able to walk to get him Wednesday after school. we went for wings at hangar 54 then the kids jumped in the puddles when we got home.
Thursday morning trevor woke up at 7 am, when I've been having to wake him up at 730, and said he didn't feel good and couldn't go to school. it was kinda weird of him to say that all in a row. I let him watch a little tv and then forced him to eat some breakfast (he didn't eat much.) then when he stood up after breakfast, he puked. I felt so bad, but 5 days in to kindergarten and we already had our first sick day (I thought we'd make it a little longer..) he just laid around all day, played a couple games with Al, took a 3 hour nap, ate nothing, was warm a couple of times, then after supper he was back to normal, slept great and was fine the next morning/day. so weird!
Friday he was back to school and it was cold out! high of 62.
Saturday morning the kids and I were on the road by 730a to make it up to the cities in time for our ALS walk at 10am in St Paul. we made it to mom's, unpacked quick, got back in the car with mom, and went to the walk at lake phalen. we actually got to park right by the path which was nice with the stroller. we met up with maren, nick, tula, etta, baby leni, and 3 of maren's friends and their families. our group had 5 strollers, 11 kids and 8 adults! it was a beautiful day although it did get a bit hot. then we went back to mom's house for lunch and nap for tova. during nap and trevor's quiet time, I went to visit papa with my dad and brother. then after nap, us 3, mom and tyler went to get ice cream cones and then went to a play ground. we met tyler's childhood best friend ben, his wife cortni and their 2 kids there. back to mom's for dinner and then bedtime. after bedtime, I went to my cousin aryn's house to play ping pong with tyler and my dad came too. it was fun but it was really hot down there and I was exhausted. i got back to mom's about 1030. tova had some diarrhea during the day and was a little fussy. she ended up crying every 10-20 minutes between 12 and 2am so I didn't sleep much.
sunday morning we packed up and headed home. it was the Viking packer game at noon so we got to watch some of it with Al before he had to work at 3. trevor ended up napping a little bit but I woke him up before he slept an hour. after the game was over, we went outside to wash the car and then played in the backyard for a long time. it was gorgeous out, even hot! then in for supper, some play/ tv time, baths, books and bed.
Monday was super hot out. we walked trevor to school, then walked with Jodi and the kids to play outside at her house a bit, then home for a bit, then to aldi, then home to have lunch with dada before tova went down for nap. I ran some errands at nap time then came home and walked to get trevor. once home grandpa peter was here to help Al fix the dryer vent; he also played games with the kids and we had supper.
