2015 :: 25/52 :: The Lake

Tova: rolled over for the first time from her back to her front (she's been rolling from her back to her side for a while), after she did it the first time anytime she was on her back she'd roll over and then get mad because she's not a fan of being on her tummy, it was Tova's first trip to the lake and first toe dip in a lake, she loved being the baby and having lots of doting cousins and aunts and uncles, she slept pretty well especially considering our room was so hot, she laughs now mostly only at faces and usually at momma's face,

----------------------

Friday afternoon, we packed up and drove up to mom's house to take an hour off our trip up to the lake. once there we had to unpack everything out of the car because it was so hot and humid.

Saturday morning I packed both our car and mom's and we headed out; caravanning. we had a pretty good ride up considering we had 2 kids including a baby and it rained/stormed off & on the whole way. we stopped to feed tova a couple times, stopped in our beloved park rapids for fishing licenses and groceries, and then met lots of our family at the royal bar for burgers. we got to the cabin/resort about 3 pm, unpacked and set up, then went to hug our family.

sunday it was cloudy all day but it didn't rain much so we were still able to be outside; trevor and his cousins still swam both in the lake and in their blow up pool. we did crafts, played games, tova napped a lot, and trevor did not nap the whole time we were up there.

Monday-Wednesday were beautiful! it was sunny and hot and we played lots in the water. trevor fished every day off the dock with dadda. Tuesday Al golfed with the boys, and then Tuesday night was our annual girls theme night which was Hawaiian this year. it was relatively low key this year. I was able to feed tova right before she went to bed so I was able to go out on the pontoon! we sang, danced, discussed next years theme, and then went swimming fully clothed because it was so hot out and the water felt so good! we stayed in the lake for a while! I was able to play some games with my cousins/aunts, Al was able to go fishing with the men one night, trevor and I got out on the paddle board, and I had a great magical mother nature moment on Monday night after the kids were in bed. it was still light out and gorgeous so I went out on the paddle board by myself on a very calm/still lake. while I was sitting out there enjoying it, a loon swam right next to me, sung to me, then a dragonfly landed on my shoulder, and the sun peaked out at me shining water diamonds. it was so awesome!! Trevor tried tubbing on Monday with Ruby and Tula, and once they were a ways away from the dock (ie: their moms) the boat malfunctioned and the front of the tube went under water and the kids flipped off. Trevor cried but grabbed on to the tube, ruby calmed the other 2, and Tula cried a little. all 3 mom's started swimming out to them immediately but travis, the driver of the boat, jumped in and auntie judie and auntie kari on paddle boards got to them first. so by the time we got out to them (out of breath & tired) they were on the paddle boards and on their way in. trevor said it was fun to tube but did not want to go back on it and didn't even really want to go in the speed boat on Wednesday.

we had to leave on Wednesday because Al had to work at midnight that night due to country fest, the one weekend a year they can't request off & hafta work on their days off. I got up early, gave Tova to mom, got us all packed up and packed into the car, then Trevor and I went out on the paddle board with mom, then we got a ride on uncle tim's speedboat. we were sad to go since it was so nice out and was going to continue to be the rest of the week, and trevor was having so much fun with his cousins, but we had to (SO over Al's job right now!!) we headed out just before 11 am and went home a different way, through Duluth, and it was much better! so much less traffic and lots of places/parks to stop at. we stopped for lunch and gas in walker, then 2 other stops at parks to feed tova and let trevor play. we got home before 6 pm so made good time! then unpacked, did some laundry, put kids to bed, and Al went to work.

Thursday was more unpacking and settling back in to home. in between tova's naps, the kids and I did manage to garage sale a little bit. trevor fell asleep right away from nap, but I had to wake him shortly after 2 so we could get to soccer. his actual soccer practices started on Tuesday so we missed the first one. I had just laid tova down for a long nap and Al was just waking up, so they stayed home. trevor did pretty good at soccer but did follow the little boy who was pulling out grass and jumping on the ball & falling instead of listening to the coaches. but he had fun playing the games and learning. after soccer, we ran and picked up our groceries from my first online order. Al worked 6p-6a at country fest again before starting his real shifts for the rest of the weekend...

Friday I watched Kade and Kinsley all day so I was kept busy with that until 3 pm. the boys got along pretty well and Kinsley wanted to play with Tova so it went pretty well. the girls were on opposite napping schedules so there was pretty much always someone sleeping. Al got up just after 3 and had to leave again at 420 so we barely saw him. :( after Kade and Kinsley left, I was in the kitchen then peeked in on the kids and tova was on her tummy when I had put her on her back; she rolled over for the first time. she continued to do it lots after that but then would get mad because she doesn't like to be on her tummy.

Saturday the kids and I just hung out around home and got things back in order and laundry all done. it was a nice relaxing day that we needed.

sunday morning right when trevor got up we hopped in the car and drove up to mom's house for softball. little things just kept happening and just wasn't my day including weird things with the car, little sleep, and at softball a baby got hit in the head with a foul ball (I bawled! my hormones are all over the place...) I played awful at ball and couldn't hit, but we made it home safely and went right to bed.

2018 :: 24/52

Tova: she was fussier this week couldn't stay playing in one spot very long without fussing, she napped more total each day than the week before, giggled almost every day, getting a little bit better at getting toys in her mouth, liked to sit up and be around us,

Tuesday was trevor's second day of soccer class and Al came with us. Tova slept the whole time and Trevor had fun and did great!! on the way home we stopped at a garage sale and Al & Trevor got to shop & found some things. Al and trevor played outside a bit (frisbee and beetle battles with the big beetles that are coming out of our yard again) and tova & I were out there for a bit checking out the garden. it got hot in the afternoon when the sun came out so we didn't do too much outside.

Wednesday morning, trevor's class switched to basketball and he loved it! he's so much more social and coordinated this year. :) tova only slept on the way there so since there was shade at the basketball place, I was able to get her out of her carseat and hold her. she got a little fussy at the end but did well. then we came home for lunch and naps (trevor napped again, he's been really tired lately) and I ran to the grocery store for just a couple things before we go to the lake on Saturday.

Thursday was trevor's last day of this class and was basketball again. he enjoyed himself and tova was once again awake the whole time even though she was tired, but I eventually put her in the front carrier and she was good. then we went home for lunch and to see Al (we drove by a few garage sales but nothing worth stopping for.) trevor napped but I got him up after about 45 minutes to go to the new splash pad with matt, Jodi and the kids. it's a pretty cool place with a small splash pad and a man made small river/creek that the kids can play in with little beaches next to it. trevor loved walking in the river and was so happy to see his friends! jenny and her girls came too. oh and the blue angels were practicing overhead the whole time so it was cool to see them. trevor and I left after and hour so we could get back for Al to get ready for work. once home we went out on the driveway and saw all 6 of the blue angels in formation and then dive off, straight down, from each other; it was so cool! after Al went to work, we worked on crafts, watered the garden, played legos, ate supper, watched wheel of fortune, bathed Tova, then a little bit of a movie for trevor once tova was in bed. we were all pretty tired as the kids made a lot of noise between 2&6 am the night before including trevor crying and needing to pee at 220, tova eating at 230 & 530, and some weird noises from both kids.

Friday morning, I packed up more stuff for the lake and after lunch we headed up to mom's house to stay the night before heading to the lake. i'm gonna post this week here and i'll do a lake post for next week. :)
