2016 :: 3/52

Trevor loves to play crayons these days which doesn't involve much coloring more just pouring the crayons out of the box and then putting them back in the box one by one. He is also obsessed with playing his games on our phones, like the second he sees a phone unattended and within reach he heads right for it. He also gets really upset when we take it away, even if he's been playing for a bit. he's getting so good with the technology; he can get our phones on, open and find all his games and play them on his own. he does a vehicle puzzle game where he has to match the vehicle picture to it's shadow, and he's so good at it! I would not have expected him to be able to do that... I need to set my expectations higher for my smart boy! he now eats meals on an actual kitchen chair, usually standing on it, and we no longer have food or utensils purposefully hitting the floor!!

Tuesday and Wednesday Al was still off work, so we ran errands in the mornings. Tuesday night we had Cam and Chloe over until after 9pm so that was fun for Trevor to have friends to play with at his house.

Thursday and Friday mornings, Trevor and I went to play at the neighb's house for a bit. Thursday we went outside after nap, and Friday we went outside in the morning with the kiddos. Al started a 12 day work stretch on Thursday which includes a class he's going to mon-thurs next week. but the class is 8a-4p, so while he doesn't get any days off, it'll be interesting for him to have a normal work day those days.

Saturday morning was Trevor's first swimming lessons at the middle school right behind our house. We signed up with our friends Steph and her little girl, Lily. Trevor did better than I expected but didn't participate the whole time. it's just a half hour and the pool is chilly, but we had a good time. Al came with to watch and take pictures. we had some info first, then sat on the side of the pool, then were taught ways to hold the little ones (it's a parent child class so adults were in the water with the littles). then we sang a tiny turtle song that teaches the littles to blow bubbles in the water (the first step to getting them to be able to put their head under water) and Trevor wouldn't blow bubbles with me even though I knew he could because he blows them in his drinks. then we had free time with toys (T chose a lobster toy) where we are supposed to practice the skill we learned, and still I couldn't get him to blow bubbles although he got closer. then we had the littles stand on the side of the pool and sand no more monkey's jumping on the bed in which they would jump into the water at the end of the song. I did get Trevor to squat down but I don't think he actually jumped at all, I just did the jumping for him by picking him up. it's not easy trying to get a freezing toddler dressed in the locker room and then getting yourself dressed while keeping the toddler near you. :)

after swimming lessons, Al gave T a bath to get rid of chlorine while I packed the car, and T and I drove up to mom's for the night. we didn't do a whole lot but we hadn't been up there in a while so it was nice to be up there and hang with mom. I ran to manda and johnny's house after supper to pick up my norwex items and ended up staying until after 10 talking with manda. we headed back home sunday morning to see Al before he went to work.

after nap on sunday we went over to the neighb's to watch football and for supper. matt's mom and dad came over too and Trevor just loves them. he wanted to constantly play catch with grandpa roger and kept going up to grandma sue and smiling. sue brought over frozen gogurts and trevor loved it!

2016 :: 2/52

Monday all 3 of us ran to kohls for a return and then stopped to see the place that we'll have Trevor's birthday party. it was supposed to be open play time so I thought we could see the toys they had and let T play a bit, but they had a music class going on so we just got to quietly chat with the owner. it's a nice big space, and should work great for the party!

Tuesday we all drove up to the cities on slippery roads with some black ice due to snow and really cold temps (we had no issues tho). T and I hung out at mom's house (she was working from home) while Al went to an interview. Al and I both napped while Trevor did :) and then mom made homemade pizza for supper. we headed back home after that.

Wednesday Trevor and I went to the children's museum with Jodi, Cam, Chloe, Kade, Jenny, Kali and Kourtlyn. we signed up for our year membership for T's Christmas present, and Trevor had a good time. he preferred the gated toddler area complete with steps and a slide, and didn't really care to do or go where the other kids were. we played on all 3 levels and stayed for 2 hours. his favorites were the toddler area (stuffies, steps and slide), the contruction/rock place, the big cow, the fishing boat, and the water. meanwhile, Al got the oil changed and tire fixed on the Volkswagen. Al went back to work this day, working his regular shifts and it's only a 3 day work week for him!!! due to his alumni track meet this weekend!

Thursday night, Trevor and I had dinner at the neighb's house. Friday, the 3 of us played outside with the kiddos for a bit until we got cold and Trevor face planted at the bottom of the slide. his face was super cold with the snow on it and it cut up his lip and nose a little bit. :(

Saturday mom came down and it was Al's alumni indoor track meet. it was also Al's first day off of his 5 day weekend!! Mom, Trevor and I went early since the meet started at noon (naptime) and saw dada warm up, and then got to see all 6 of his throws. he didn't throw very well but he had a good time. then that night Al went out to the alumni party with his friends and I went over to my menard's friend's house during the packer game (mom stayed with Trevor). it was fun to get to chat and laugh with trina, steph and tim, and to get to see their little one, Lily that I hadn't seen since she was little. Steph and I also signed up for swimming lessons with our littles together starting next Saturday at the middle school that connects to our backyard! I've been wanting to do swimming lessons with T and i'm so glad Steph brought it up because these are much cheaper than the ones at the Y I was looking at and they're close to us and with our friends! I was home by midnight, Al came home at bar close. :)

sunday was still freezing out! so we played inside with mom until nap time when she went back home. then we went over to the neighb's for supper.

Monday morning Trevor and I went with Jodi, cam, chloe, cooper and Easton to the indoor sports center for one of their fun zones (they have it every Monday, Thursday & Friday in the winters) and it was awesome! they have so many toys in the fenced in soccer/turf indoor field! there were lots of balls of all sizes, 3 inflatables/bounce houses, lots of little kid bikes (Trevor rode them all), and lots of other toys. Trevor had a blast and we'll definitely be going back! he tried the small bounce house for the first time but didn't really jump, played with the go go track set they had there, pushed some trucks around and played with the balls.
