this week we bought a new vehicle! (finally) our 05 explorer has been going down hill, still runs and is reliable, but makes so many noises and the transmission keeps getting worse. so after much looking around and trying to get in to test drive some, we finally drove and loved a ford edge. we got it from eau Claire ford dealership and ended up not trading in our explorer because they were not going to give us much for it. so now we get to try to sell that, although we've already had a couple inquiries on it.
the edge is so nice: leather, heated seats, sunroof, better gas mileage, smaller than the explorer. Al is really excited about it too!
most of our week was consumed with the driving and purchasing of the edge but we did still find time to play outside (Al had tues-thurs off!).
Friday, Trevor and I headed to the cities in our new ride. :) mom watched trevor that night while I went down to treasure island for the jenny McCarthy comedy show with 3 of my girlfriends! Meg's mom gets free hotel stays down there, so she got us a room and we stayed over night (no kids!). we got there shortly after 6, chatted, snacked & drank in our room, then headed down to the show. after grabbing a drink we went in and laughed so, so hard!! the show was so funny!!! it was great! then we walked around the hotel, grabbed a selfie with a couple of the comedians that were in the show, got a bite to eat, then went back to our room for bed.
Saturday morning, I got up bright and early and drove back to mom's so we could head up to silver bay for my grama's 98th birthday party. we stopped at a rest stop almost to Duluth to let trevor play since he was getting antsy. then we had lunch in two harbors at rustic inn where the food was amazing!! trevor didn't fall asleep until we got to silver bay (our destination) so we drove up the north shore more so that he could get at least a small nap in. then we made it to our hotel and most of the other family members were there already. 5 of mom's 6 siblings were there and my cousins angi, maren & Kayli with their little ones.
once we got into our room, we changed and went swimming; there was a little kid pool with a small water slide in it and trevor loved it! we then had to get ready for grama's party at 5. we all hung out in the lobby while everyone got ready. angi & ruby gave trevor some hand-me-down giraffe shoes that squeak when he walks on them. he loved them and I could tell where he was in the hotel. :)
we had grama's party in a restaurant; it was fun to have everyone together, especially the little ones: trevor, ryan, charlotte, ruby, and tula! grama had a great time, the food was good, and then the momma's and littles went to bed while the grandparents went to the bar. :)
sunday we drove back to mom's with a stop in Duluth by the lake since the weather was so nice! we played outside a bunch that afternoon.
Monday, Trevor and I went over to manda's to watch elouise, but we actually went shopping at fleet farm, stopped at a park, then back to her house for lunch and nap. after nap and snack, we went to pick up eva from school, stopped at another park, and then back home by the time manda got home from work.
