Trevor: that 4th molar finally came thru and 2 days later one of his top vampire teeth popped through, I can also see the tip of the other top one, he seemed taller on and around things at home so I measured him and it looked like he's grown another 1.5 inches in 2 months!, loves knocking on everything even his head, getting good at shape shorters and puzzle pieces, learning more body parts and animals sounds, falls down on purpose on his own now and makes a little screech noise,
Tuesday I finally was able to get into the dentist (in bloomer) or so I thought. Al was up in Hudson for testing & interviewing with st Croix county, so I dropped Trevor at the neighbors at about 230 and started up to bloomer. on the big highway up (53) the explorer was jerking so I pulled over and once I got onto the shoulder, it died on me. luckily, I was in Al's county so I called him; he was able to call and get one of his co-workers out there to help me (I was not in a good spot as it was just over a small hill so the on coming traffic couldn't see me) and sit behind me with lights on. he was also able to get his dispatch to call a triple A approved tow truck right away.
I tried starting the explorer a couple times and it would start but then die after a little bit. I was eventually able to get it to the exit ramp that was right ahead of me and then I got to wait for the tow truck in the front seat of Al's co-worker's squad (in the ac, it was 80+ degrees out). the tow truck came and Al's co-worker got approval to take me home so I didn't have to ride with the tow truck driver. i'm so thankful Trevor wasn't with me and that I was in Al's county; pretty lucky, i'd say.
Al got back from Hudson about an hour before he had to leave for work... but thankfully his weekend was Thursday and Friday.
Wednesday I tried the dentist again at 10 am with the Volkswagen and made it there. turns out the large-ish cavity I have does not require a root canal, filling and crown costing $2500 like the other dentist told me, but will just be a routine cavity filling costing about $500. whew! so glad I went to our dentist in bloomer for a second opinion!!! I love bloomer! I also picked up some of the local strawberries while up there and drove by the old house.
Friday we headed up to the cities so that we could go hang out with our besties. we got to mom's in the morning and while trevor napped, mom & Al also napped so I went garage saling (probably should have napped as well) and found a great one with boy's clothes, warmer 24 month clothes for fall/winter. then we left Trevor with mom and went over to shane & Jodi's house for dinner and drinks and then we went to an outdoor concert thing for an 80s cover band called hairball. it was so much fun! we took a cab there, I found $40, their friends/neighb's Justin & Alisha came (they have a little girl avery who is just younger than Trevor), we sang & danced!
Saturday morning we went back to ec since Al had to work that night and we all napped while Trevor did. :) then Trevor and I headed back to the cities sunday for softball taking our only running vehicle the Volkswagen; thank goodness for awesome friends/neighbor's, they let Al borrow one of their cars to get to work sunday night. they ended up cancelling softball due to rain so Trevor and I drove back to ec that night but weren't able to make in time for Al to leave for work.
Monday morning we went grocery shopping and to target, then played with the neighbor's for a bit before lunch & nap. while we were outside I got a call that the explorer part had arrived and it will hopefully be done today but maybe tomorrow!! woo hoo!! Monday night was Al's last 7p-330a shift and then he's on 3p-11p (roughly) from July until the end of the year!!! we've been waiting for 2 shift pick rotations to get him on this shift so hopefully it's good. it's kind of the suckiest shift to work because he has to deal with the most calls and usually they're for dumb stuff. but we're excited for his sleep schedule to be more like ours, especially on his days off!!!
